Originally released for the IBM 6150 RISC workstation, AIX now supports or has supported a wide variety of hardware platforms, including the IBM RS / 6000 series and later IBM POWER and PowerPC-based systems, IBM System i, System / 370 mainframes, PS / 2 personal computers, and the Apple Network Server.

AIX PS / 2 ( also known as AIX / 386 ) was developed by Locus Computing Corporation under contract to IBM.

AIX PS / 2, first released in 1989, ran on IBM PS / 2 personal computers with Intel 386 and compatible processors.

It was announced in September 1988 by a consortium of PC clone vendors ( the " Gang of Nine ") as a counter to IBM's use of its proprietary Micro Channel architecture ( MCA ) in its PS / 2 series.

In 1987, IBM released the PS / 2 line of computers, which included the MCA bus.

MINIX 1. 5, released in 1991, included support for MicroChannel IBM PS / 2 systems and was also ported to the Motorola 68000 and SPARC architectures, supporting the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, Apple Macintosh and Sun SPARCstation computer platforms.

Additionally, nearly all motherboards include logic and connectors to support commonly used input devices, such as PS / 2 connectors for a mouse and keyboard.

The name stands for " Operating System / 2 ," because it was introduced as part of the same generation change release as IBM's " Personal System / 2 ( PS / 2 )" line of second-generation personal computers.

* OS / 2 1. x targeted the 80286 processor: IBM insisted on supporting the Intel 80286 processor, with its 16-bit segmented memory mode, due to commitments made to customers who had purchased many 80286-based PS / 2's because of IBM's promises surrounding OS / 2.

Originally displacing 4. 5 L and featuring a single overhead camshaft design, it produced 219 hp ( 163 kW / 222 PS ) for the North American market and 237 hp ( 176 kW / 240 PS ) in other markets.

The ages are divided into Grande section ( GS: 5 year olds ), Moyenne section ( MS: 4 year olds ), Petite section ( PS: 3 year olds ) and Toute petite section ( TPS: 2 year olds ).

OS / 8 was originally called MS / 8 and, for a brief time, PS / 8 (" Programming System / 8 ") before Digital settled on the name OS / 8 in 1971.

PS 184M Shuang Wen School, a bilingual Chinese-English School which opened in 1998, is a non-zoned school in proximity to Chinatown.

Berdy School ( K-5 ), PS 100 ( K-5 ), and Mark Twain ( 6-8 ) are all schools located in the heart of Coney Island.

Amid the Great Depression, Red played basketball at PS 122 and in the Eastern District High School, where he was named " Second Team All-Brooklyn " by the World-Telegram in his senior year.
