* 1940 – King Haakon VII, Crown Prince Olav, and the Norwegian government leave Tromsø and go into exile in London.

Molde was in effect the capital of Norway for a week after King Haakon, Crown Prince Olav, and members of the government and parliament arrived at Molde on April 23, after a dramatic flight from Oslo.

These included Grytviken ( operating 1904-64 ), Leith Harbour ( 1909 – 65 ), Ocean Harbour ( 1909 – 20 ), Husvik ( 1910 – 60 ), Stromness ( 1912 – 61 ) and Prince Olav Harbour ( 1917 – 34 ).

King Haakon, his son Crown Prince Olav and the country's government lived in exile in London throughout the war.

Their son, Prince Alexander, the future Crown Prince Olav ( and eventually king Olav V of Norway ), was born on 2 July 1903.

Haakon, Maud and Crown Prince Olav became interested in skiing.

Crown Prince Olav married his cousin Princess Märtha of Sweden on 21 March 1929.

Haakon and Crown Prince Olav took up residence in a forest cabin in Målselvdalen valley in inner Troms county where they would stay until the evacuation to the United Kingdom.

Between March 1942 and the end of the war in May 1945 the King and his son, Crown Prince Olav, lived at Foliejon Park in Winkfield, near Windsor.

With Haakon's loss of mobility, and as the King's health deteriorated further in the summer of 1957, Crown Prince Olav appeared on behalf of his father on ceremonial occasions and took a more active role in state affairs.

At Haakon's death in September 1957, the Crown Prince succeeded as Olav V. Haakon was buried on 1 October 1957.

During the 1930s, Crown Prince Olav was a naval cadet serving on the minelayer / cadet training ship Olav Tryggvason.

The British Film Institute houses an early film, made in 1913, in which a miniature car commissioned by Queen Alexandra for the Crown Prince Olav tows a procession of Londoners through the streets of the capital, before being delivered to a pair of ' royal testers ' of roughly Olav's age.

As Crown Prince, Olav had received extensive military training and had participated in most major Norwegian military exercises.

Examples of these include Murmansk, Russia ; Pechenga, Russia ; St. Petersburg, Russia ; Hammerfest, Norway ; Vardø, Norway ; and Prince Rupert Harbour, Canada.

The Lucayan Harbour Cruise Facility in Freeport and Nassau harbour's Prince George Wharf are built specifically to handle multiple modern cruise ships at one time.

Kirkwall Harbour can be seen in The Highlands and Islands-A Royal Tour, a 1973 documentary about Prince Charles ' visit to the Highlands and Islands, directed by Oscar Marzaroli.

The town was held for his son, Charles Edward Stuart ( Bonnie Prince Charlie ; the Young Pretender ), 30 years later and in February 1746 the largest naval battle of the war was fought in Montrose Harbour.

The city is located along the island's northwestern shore, fronting on Prince Rupert Harbour.

The last significant railway construction on Prince Edward Island occurred during the early 1930s when the Hillsborough River Bridge carrying the Murray Harbour line over the Hillsborough River was unable to handle the heavier standard gauge cars, thus a connecting track called the Short Line was built from a point at Maple Hill Junction on the Mount Stewart Jct .- Georgetown line, to connect with the Murray Harbour track at Lake Verde Junction.

On Australia Day 1994, Charles, Prince of Wales was about to commence handing out awards at a ceremony in Sydney's Darling Harbour when a former anthropology student, David Kang, lunged onto the stage towards the Prince, simultaneously firing two shots from a starter's pistol.

Nevertheless, when Prince Vladimir II Yaroslavich of Halych, who had been expelled from his country by his subjects, fled to Hungary seeking for assistance in 1188, King Béla III had him arrested and occupied his principality and he invested Andrew with Halych.
