Lemmy made an appearance in the music videos for the 1986 Boys Don't Cry song " I Wanna Be A Cowboy " and the 1998 Rap song " Freak of the Week " by adult film star Ron Jeremy.

Kool Moe Dee states that Biggie introduced a newer flow which “ dominated from 1994 to 2002 ”, and also says that Method Man was “ one of the emcees from the early to mid -’ 90s that ushered in the era of flow ... Rakim invented it, Big Daddy Kane, KRS-One, and Kool G Rap expanded it, but Biggie and Method Man made flow the single most important aspect of an emcee ’ s game ”.

However, in June 2009, Eminem confirmed he was also working hard on the group's 3rd studio album on an announcement made on Rap city during an interview with Eminem and Denaun Porter.

In 1986 he also became a presenter on pan-European music channel Music Box, and for this reason he also took part in a sort of music group called The Rap Pack made up of some of Music Box's presenters, who released a single called Back To The Rhythm along with an accompanying video.

Also to be noticed is the emergence of Akan Rap which is mainly underground hip hop made in Akanland, the artists in this genre mainly rap in English or pidgin English.

The 3rd Annual Ozone Award and TJs DJs Tastemakers Conference was held on the weekend of August 8-11, 2008 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston, Texas ( which made national headlines when Houston Rap Artist Trae of the SUC got into a physical altercation with fellow Houston rapper Mike Jones ).
