In 1948, for administrative purposes the KRRC was brigaded with the Ox & Bucks Light Infantry and the Rifle Brigade to form the Green Jackets Brigade.

In 1958 the Regiment was re-titled as the 2nd Green Jackets, The King's Royal Rifle Corps, as were the two other regiments of the Green Jackets Brigade, re-titled 1st and 3rd Green Jackets respectively.

In 1992 the 1st Battalion, Royal Green Jackets was disbanded, and the KRRC were renumbered as the 1st Battalion, with the 3rd Battalion ( former Rifle Brigade ) becoming the 2nd Battalion.

Wimsey served on the Western Front from 1914 to 1918, reaching the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade.

By 2007 the now-Russian force, now designated the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Moldova, under the command of the Moscow Military District had withered away to a strength of some 1500 which included the 8th Motor Rifle Brigade and a surface-to-air missile regiment.

The subordinate brigades listed in the table below have been attributed to the various military districts either because they are located in the same city as the military district headquarters or are clearly within the military districts ' area of responsibility-that is, the 37th Motor Rifle Brigade at Andijan.

Niven was re-commissioned as a lieutenant in the Rifle Brigade on 25 February 1940, and was assigned to a motor training battalion.

The King's Royal Rifle Corps was a British Army infantry regiment, originally raised in colonial North America as the Royal Americans, and recruited from American colonists.

According to a regimental history compiled in 1879 by a captain in the Kings Royal Rifle Corps, in November 1755 Parliament voted the sum of £ 81, 000 for the purpose of raising a regiment of four battalions, each one thousand strong for service in British North America.

According to W. J. Militia and Rifle Volunteers of south Staffordshire were also incorporated in the new regiment.

In 1937, this regiment became part of the Prince Consort's Own Rifle Brigade.

The units at NTC and JMRC were used to replicate a Soviet Motorized Rifle regiment or division.

The regiment was formally disbanded on 31 July, after which there was no regular regiment of rangers in the British Army until 1968 ( The Rangers ( 12th London / 9th Kings Royal Rifle Corps ) existed as part of the Territorial Army.

The regiment would have received a new Territorial Army battalion through the grouping together of the various RGJ companies of the Royal Rifle Volunteers and the London Regiment.

There were also three independent rifle divisions and a single rifle regiment, from the 270th Rifle Division, concentrated in the area and supported by the 2nd Cavalry Corps in Bogdanovka.
