In 1974, Keith Hudson released his classic Pick a Dub, widely considered to have been the first deliberately thematic dub album, with tracks specifically mixed in the dub style for the purpose of appearing together on an LP, and King Tubby released his two debut albums At the Grass Roots of Dub and Surrounded by the Dreads at the National Arena.

Salmonella Dub is a Dub / Drum n Bass / Reggae / Roots band from Kaikoura, New Zealand.

Recently Dub Syndicate content has been released on Style Scott's own Lion & Roots record label and production duties have been split between Adrian Sherwood, Scientist, and Style Scott himself.

The On-U Sound dub style differs from the traditional dub sounds of King Tubby, or Lee " Scratch " Perry in that many of the extended family of musicians who are part of the On-U crew have backgrounds in Punk, New Wave, or Funk, producing a sound which is not considered pure reggae though traditional reggae performers such as Prince Far I, Bim Sherman, the Roots Radics and even Lee Perry himself are also associated with the label.

However, this riddim has little to do with Yellowman's talent, as it was most likely written by the Roots Radics band, also responsible for countless other reggae riddims recorded at the time.

The Roots Radics were the pre-eminent backing band for the dancehall style.

In particular, he was the favourite engineer of Henry " Junjo " Lawes, for whom he mixed several albums featuring the Roots Radics, many based on tracks by Barrington Levy.
