In conjunction with another disciple of Saints Cyril and Methodius, Saint Naum, he created a flourishing Bulgarian cultural center around Ohrid, where over 3, 000 pupils were taught in the Glagolitic and Cyrillic script in what is now called Ohrid Literary School.

Nikola Velimirović was born in the small village of Lelić, Valjevo municipality in Western Serbia, on the day of the feast of Saint Naum of Ohrid, whose monastery would later be his episcopal see.

In 1829, he stayed in the Saint Naum monastery in Ohrid to continue his education, and in 1830 he became a teacher in Ohrid.

Naum Ilyich Idelson ( Наум Ильич Идельсон in Russian ) ( March 1 ( 13 ), 1885, Saint Petersburg-July 14, 1951, Leningrad ) was a Soviet theoretical astronomer and expert in history of physics and mathematics.

There is a Russian Orthodox burial ground ( Saint Lazarus chapel, 1894 ) and plots dedicated for the use of various Orthodox churches. Greek Orthodox community buried their dead since 1869, belonging to group 30 A, at Gate 2, behind the arcades, Romanian Orthodox community at the gate 3, Group 38th.
