The Predacon leader known as Megatron from the Beast Wars and Beast Machines animated series is a separate character from the original Generation 1 Megatron.

The Transformers included Generation 1 Tracks, Ariel, Cosmos and Megatron, Beast Wars Tarantulas, Robots in Disguise Sky-Byte and Beast Machines Tankor.

" Phat Planet " was also used in the animated television series Beast Machines, the simulation racing games F1 2000 by EA Sports and Racedriver GRID by Codemasters.

The success of Beast Wars and the change in storyline resulted in its second phase: Beast Machines.

While still a success, the storyline and direction borne by Beast Machines was questioned and criticized by the most ardent fans who knew the previous history of the Transformers.

While Beast Machines was still running in Canada, Japan's Takara made a bid to return to the familiar vehicle-transforming robots concept.

At the same time, they distributed a CGI version of Transformers known as Beast Wars until 1999, and its sequel Beast Machines from 1999 to 2000.

In Beast Wars: The Ascending Shokaract's heralds Hellscream, Max-B, Antagony, Thrustor and Hardhead defended their master on Cybertron until he was shunted into limbo by the Maximal Snarl.

: There were plans to create a Transformers: Universe Botcon-exclusive toy called Alpha Trion who was a repaint of Beast Machines Snarl.

Snarl ( a recolor of Beast Wars Neo Saberback and Beast Machines Striker ) was packaged with Sludge ( a recolor of Beast Wars Sling ).

In the Beast Wars toyline, Snarl was the name of a Maximal who transformed into a Tasmanian Devil.

Snarl finally made his first official appearance in the 2006 IDW Beast Wars: The Gathering comic, where it was revealed he was a Maximal protoform from the Axalon.

Snarl had a biography printed in the Beast Wars Sourcebook by IDW Publishing.

: In Beast Wars Second the toy for the Maximal Tasmanian Kid was identical to Snarl.

In the Beast Machines toyline, Snarl was the name of a Maximal who transformed into a technorganic lion.

One of the Dinobots sets included Snarl ( a repaint of Beast Wars Neo Saberback ) and Sludge ( a repaint of Beast Wars Neo Sling ).

Due to the interference of Ravage ( the same future Ravage who appears in the Beast Wars ), most of the events of the original animated feature do not transpire ; most importantly the Battle of Autobot City does not occur, and Optimus Prime and Megatron do not have their final showdown, meaning that Optimus Prime does not die, and Megatron is never reformatted into Galvatron.

Unleashed as a last-ditch effort by Grimlock to stop an Autobot massacre, " The Beast " was a huge mindless combiner that destroyed warriors on both sides.

A notable occurrence of this happening is Optimus Primal taking the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, and Optimus Prime's spark, during the Beast Wars on prehistoric Earth while Teletraan I and other Maximals were repairing the incredible damage to his body.

With all the other Predacons dealt with, and Megatron finally their captive courtesy of Rhinox's quickly strategised intervention, the Maximals clamped him to the hull of the Autobot shuttle, and, with the Beast Wars finally concluded, headed back at last to Cybertron.

The Beast Wars II movie is an example of a story that is not in continuity with the English fiction, as it displays Primal in possession of the Autobot Matrix of Leadership, which he most certainly does not have in western stories.
