At Acadia University, students have access to the Student Union Building which serves as a hub for students and houses many Student Union organizations.

New sections were formed, including Ex-services CND, Green CND, Student CND, Tories Against Cruise and Trident ( TACT ), Trade Union CND, and Youth CND.

Other members of the board include people from the university community such as four approved representatives from Dalhousie Student Union, as well as those in the larger surrounding community of Dalhousie, such as the Mayor of Halifax.

Locally, the main Student Union buildings of the University of Cape Town are named in his honour and each year a commemorative Steve Biko lecture, open to all students, is delivered on the anniversary of his death.

The Vice Chancellor offered to do all he could and in 1969 Channell, who wanted to stay on campus and continue his social experiments, was able to persuade the VC to appoint him official University Wizard with a small honorarium paid jointly by the University Administration and the Student Union.

All members of the Graduate Society also belong to the Christ's College Student Union ( CCSU ) and share their canteen-style Upper Hall.

URF also runs a news service which is independent of the control of the Student Union and is bound by legal regulations to remain neutral and unbiased.

The university club teams, which are supported financially by the Student Union as well as by individual members of the teams, do not use the Varsity Reds name and thus continue the tradition of using different nicknames for each sport.

* UPEI Student Union

Outside of Ring Road are the parking lots, Student Union Building, residence buildings, the sports facilities as well as some of the academic facilities that are more self contained ( Law and Theatre for example ).

The University of Victoria Students ' Society is a student society which represents the UVic undergraduate student body, plans campus wide events and maintains the Student Union Building.

Student Services Building — will add increased capacity and classrooms and laboratories with enhanced technologies.

While studying at Stockholm University, Bildt was against the occupation of the Student Union Building in 1968 and was one of the co-founders of Borgerliga Studenter – Opposition ' 68 later the same year.

The protests culminated with the occupation of the Student Union Building in Stockholm ; Palme came there and tried to confornt the students, urging them to use democratic methods for the pursuit of their cause.

The main cafeteria, La Mesa Dining Hall, in the Student Union Building is newly renovated.

In addition to the athletic facilities, the 16-story Wyly Tower, Student Bookstore, Nethken Hall ( Electrical Engineering building ), the University President's House, and the current College of Business Building were built on the Main Campus.

Recent projects have included the £ 35 million renovation of the Lionel Robbins Building, which houses the British Library of Political and Economic Science, LSE's Library and a brand new Student Services Centre in the Old Building as well as LSE Garrick on the junction of Houghton Street and Aldwych.

This led to the development of new buildings such as the Jubilee Sports Hall, Student Services Building and the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research.

The Student Union building was awarded LEED Gold status in August by the U. S. Green Building Council for its sustainability features.

Current construction at University Park includes an independent art museum for the Frost Art Museum, a Graduate Business School Complex, a Molecular Biology Building, a Student Services Building, a Social Sciences Building, a Medical School Complex, and an expansion to FIU Stadium for a seating capacity of 45, 000.

On May 6 Roberta Kathleen Parks left her dormitory at Oregon State University in Corvallis, south of Seattle, to have coffee with friends at the Student Union Building.

The MIT Student Center ( Building W20 ) is located directly across the street, at 84 Massachusetts Avenue.

Clubs offered to students through both Magnet and the UCVTS district include Art Club, Bridge Building Club, Chess Club, Class Councils ( Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior ), Community Service Club ( and SMAC ), Dance Club, Drama Club ( and Tech Crew ), Future Business Leaders of America, French Club, French National Honor Society, Intramurals, Marine Corps Fitness Club, Math League, Multicultural Club, National Honor Society, News Club, Newspaper Club, Peer Mediation, Robotics Club, Science Olympiad, Spanish Club, Spanish National Honor Society, Student Council and Yearbook Club.
