The Hondells were an American surf rock band who hit the Top 10 with the 1964 single " Little Honda ".

The song was released by The Hondells in 1964, followed by the release of the original recording by The Beach Boys.

The Hondells released another album and scored another modest hit single in 1966 with the Lovin ' Spoonful song " Younger Girl " ( Mercury 72562 ), before disbanding.

Integral to the series were appearances by contemporary musical stars including Stevie Wonder, Nancy Sinatra, The Supremes, The Beach Boys, The Animals, The Castaways, Little Richard, The Righteous Brothers, The Kingsmen, The Pyramids, The Hondells, and Dick Dale and The Del-Tones.

Throughout the years the Curb Companies have had major successes with such artists as the Stone Poneys ( featuring Linda Rondstadt ), Eric Burdon and War, Sammy Davis Jr., the Osmond Family ( including Donny & Marie ), Lou Rawls, Exile, the Righteous Brothers, Solomon Burke, Gloria Gaynor, the Hondells, the Arrows ( featuring Davie Allan ), Lyle Lovett, Roy Orbison, the Electric Flag ( featuring Mike Bloomfield and Buddy Miles ), the Sylvers, and the Four Seasons.

In 1965 The Hondells released " You Meet the Nicest People on a Honda ", another song promoting the Super Cub, which was actually used in Honda's TV spots, as a B side to their version of " Sea Cruise.

In addition, works published before 1964 that did not have their copyrights renewed 28 years after first publication year also are in the public domain, except that books originally published outside the US by non-Americans are exempt from this requirement, if they are still under copyright in their home country ( see How Can I Tell Whether a Copyright Was Renewed for more details ).

As the genre matured, budgets sometimes increased, as evidenced in 1962's I sette gladiatori ( Gladiator Seven in 1964 US release ), a wide-screen epic with impressive sets and matte-painting work.
