Mystery and Unction
The teaching of the Eastern Orthodox Church on the Holy Mystery ( sacrament ) of Unction is similar to that of the Roman Catholic Church.

Mystery and Orthodox
Because it is a Sacred Mystery of the Church, only Orthodox Christians may receive it.
The Eastern Orthodox Church considers ordination ( known as Cheirotonia, " laying on of hands ") to be a Sacred Mystery ( what in the West is called a sacrament ).
In Eastern Orthodox and Oriental Orthodox theology, the Ascension is interpreted as the culmination of the Mystery of the Incarnation, in that it not only marked the completion of Jesus ' physical presence among his apostles, but consummated the union of God and man when Jesus ascended in his glorified human body to sit at the right hand of God the Father.
In the Eastern Orthodox Church, the Anointing of an Orthodox Sovereign is considered a Sacred Mystery ( Sacrament ).
Chrismation is the name given in Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Eastern Catholic churches, as well as in the Assyrian Church of the East, Anglican, and in Lutheran initiation rites, to the Sacrament or Sacred Mystery more commonly known in the West as confirmation, although Italian normally uses cresima ( chrismation ), rather than confermazione ( confirmation ).
