The Hillman Husky estate version of the Hillman Imp was unusual in being a rear-engined estate.

After absorbing Bond Cars in 1969, which had also been a maker of three-wheeler cars ( though in their case with Hillman Imp 875 cc rear engines ) Reliant used the Bond name for the iconic 1970s Bond Bug, a sporty three-wheeler designed by the Ogle designer Tom Karen.

Many " conventional " cars are in the collection, including an Austin Allegro, an Austin Metro previously owned by Lady Diana Spencer, a Ford Escort MK2, Hillman Imp, Triumph Acclaim, Talbot Sunbeam, Talbot Horizon, Peugeot 206, Peugeot 405 and a DeLorean DMC-12 car made famous by the Back to The Future films.

Rosemary Smith ( Hillman Imp ) was also disqualified from sixth place, after winning the Coupe des Dames, the ladies ' class.

Construction of the car factory began in 1961 to produce the Hillman Imp, a revolutionary small car which went into production when the factory was opened on 2 May 1963, and was not discontinued until 1976.

The engines tested was Volvo B18, Ford V4, Triumph 1300, Lancia V4 engine, Opel, Volkswagen and Hillman Imp.

Rhisiart Jones said his brother loves to travel and that after college Ieuan " organised a ' rite of passage ' trip across Europe in his Hillman Imp.

The Linwood car plant manufactured the Hillman Imp, a competitor to BMC's Mini, and provided up to 9, 000 jobs during peak production but was closed by Peugeot-Citroen in 1981.

The rear-engine Hillman Imp never caught on with the buying public.

In 1963, Rootes introduced the Hillman Imp, a compact rear engined saloon with an innovative all-aluminium OHC engine, based on a Coventry Climax engine design ( originally used for a fire pump ).

Chrysler UK soldiered on with a range of worthy but increasingly outmoded rear-wheel drive family cars like the Hillman Avenger ( introduced in 1970 ) and Hillman Hunter ( introduced in 1966 ), while the Imp – which by now had most of its teething problems ironed out – was largely ignored by the new management.

A complete departure in 1963 was the Hillman Imp using a Coventry Climax all alloy, 875 cc rear engine and built in a brand new factory in Linwood, Scotland.

Following the Hillman Imp, consideration was given to developing a larger rear-engined car, but this concept was dismissed, and the engineering settled on for the new car was more conventional and closer to the layout of the existing Audax series ( which included the previous Hillman Minx ).

The new Ford cab was used again in April 1966 with a new version of the Carrimore Car Transporter ( 1138 ) which had been re-designed to carry up to six Corgi cars, and which also featured in Gift Set 41 along with six cars ; Ford Cortina Estate ( 440 ), Rover 2000 ( 252 ), Hillman Imp ( 251 ), Mini Cooper De-Luxe ( 249 ), Austin Seven ( 225 ) and Mini Cooper Monte Carlo 1966 ( 321 ).

' Coupe ' variants badged respectively as the Hillman Imp Californian, the Sunbeam Stiletto and ( as here ) the Singer Chamois coupe featured a more steeply raked rear window which could not be opened.

The Hillman Imp is a compact, rear-engined saloon car that was manufactured under the Hillman marque by the Rootes Group ( later Chrysler Europe ) from 1963 to 1976.

A small van, the Commer Imp, was introduced in November 1965 and an estate version, using most of the same panels but with side windows behind the b-pillar, known as the Hillman Husky was produced from 1967.

Consequently, when The Byrds ' Columbia recording contract was renewed on February 29, 1968, it was only original members Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman who signed it.

Parsons, like fellow new recruit Kevin Kelley, was hired as a sideman and received a salary from McGuinn and Hillman.

In later years, this led Hillman to state " Gram was hired.

" However, these comments overlook the fact that Parsons, like Kelley, was considered a bona fide member of the band during 1968 and as such, was given equal billing alongside McGuinn, Hillman, and Kelley on the Sweetheart of the Rodeo album and in contemporary press coverage of the band.

He was replaced by lead guitarist Bernie Leadon, while Hillman reverted to bass.

Faced with a dearth of new material, most of the material was hastily written in the studio by Leadon, Hillman, and Parsons, with two Gilded Palace of Sin outtakes thrown into the mix.

Disenchanted with the band, Parsons left the Burritos in mutual agreement with Hillman, who was at his wits end after two years of babysitting Gram.

The Royals began the 2010 season with a rocky start, and after the team's record fell to 12 – 23, manager Trey Hillman was fired.

On June 12, 1853, John Wesley Hillman was reportedly the first person of European descent to see what he named " Deep Blue Lake " in Oregon.

Knott, was manufactured in Minneapolis and delivered in February 1928 by Clare Hillman, who was familiar with its operation and became the first fire chief.

The first uniformed department was made up of twelve members, plus Chief Hillman.

Hillman was elected as the Pulaski County Attorney ; Newkirk was elected the Pulaski County Presiding Commissioner.
