The ceasefire line came into effect on January 1, 1949, after eighteen months of fighting between Indian forces and Afridi tribals which Pakistan had sent to occupy Kashmir and was last adjusted and agreed upon by the two countries according to the Simla Agreement of July 2, 1972 between Indira Gandhi and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.

The ICC subsequently released a press conference that included the ICC chairman Rafay Malik, Shahid Afridi and Rafay Malik the ICC said that they had been happy with the work done so far by the PCB such as sigining new disciplinary contracts with the players and also placing in security and methods of tackling corruption.

After the Afridi had picked up some of the French sailors and Allied soldiers, she was hit by two heavy bombs and capsized with the loss of a hundred men, including some of the rearguard and the wounded from the Bison.

In five first-class matches he scored 295 runs at an average of 42. 14, including a highest score of 164, and took 11 wickets at an average of 46. 45 ; Afridi also played 11 one day matches for the club, scoring 481 runs at an average of 40. 08 and taking 18 wickets at 24. 04.

Before Pakistan toured England in July to September, Afridi played for Ireland as an overseas player in the C & G Trophy.

England won the four-match Test series 3 – 0 ; Afridi played two matches, scoring 49 runs and took three wickets.

It was the last Test cricket Afridi played until 2010.

After independence, Afridi tribesmen played a leading role in attacking Jammu and Kashmir for Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani war of 1947.

In the second innings, when England were pushing on, he played some nice strokes in his 41 before being stumped of the bowling of Shahid Afridi.

He played only one match in this competition, opening the batting against Pakistan but scoring just 7 before being run out by Shahid Afridi.

Afridi was charged on 8 February 2007 of bringing the game into disrepute after he was seen on camera thrusting his bat at a spectator who swore at him on his way up the steps after being dismissed.

In June 2004 Afridi signed with English county side Kent to play for them in three Twenty20 matches and one Totesport League match.

In the following match against Sri Lanka, which Pakistan won, Afridi claimed for more wickets to help his side to victory and became the second player to have scored 4, 000 runs and taken 300 wickets in ODIs.

In 34 ODIs as captain, Afridi led his side to 18 wins and 15 defeats.

It was there that he was killed by Afridi clansmen on the Afghanistan side of the Khyber Pass in 1897 and he was later buried in Rawalpindi.

On 31 January 2010, Afridi was caught on camera biting into the ball towards the end of the 5th Commonwealth Bank ODI series in Australia.

Afridi made his presence felt in the third Test against India in March 2005, scoring a quick-fire second-innings half-century and taking five wickets in the match ( including Tendulkar twice ) to help Pakistan to win the game and register a series draw.

Afridi was more consistent with his batting and bowling throughout 2005, starting with the tours of India and West Indies and through to the England tour.

On 21 November 2005, Shahid Afridi was banned for a Test match and two ODIs for deliberately damaging the pitch in the second match of the three-Test series against England.

It has created many world-class sportsmen like Shahid Khan Afridi, Muhammad Younus, and many more.

After India and Pakistan's independence from Britain, certain Pashtun tribes such as Mehsud and Afridi from mountainous region of North-West Frontier Province ( NWFP ) of Pakistan, at the instigation of Pakistan and with its collusion, entered the Kashmir valley to capture it.

" The bill also would have limited aid to Pakistan until the release of Dr. Shakil Afridi, the doctor who helped the CIA trace Osama bin Laden and is currently imprisoned by the Pakastani government.

While visiting the convict settlement at Port Blair in the Andaman Islands, for the purpose of inspection, he was assassinated by Sher Ali Afridi, an Afridi Pathan convict who used a knife.

Pakistan has accused the Save the Children linking it to a fake vaccination program run by Dr. Shakil Afridi used in the hunt for Osama bin Laden.

Pakistani investigators said in a July 2012 report that Dr. Shakil Afridi met 25 times with " foreign secret agents, received instructions and provided sensitive information to them.

" According to Pakistani reports, Dr. Shakil Afridi told investigators that the charity Save the Children helped facilitate his meeting with U. S. intelligence agents although the charity denies the charge.

The officials have identified Michael McGrath, an Australian who was Save the Children country director in Pakistan in 2009 as the person who recruited Dr. Shakil Afridi.

His roots were in the Pashtun Afridi tribes of Tirah, modern-day Pakistan, when his ancestor Hussain Khan migrated from Kohat to Kaimganj, Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, in 1715.

Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi () ( born 1 March 1980 in Khyber Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Pakistan ), popularly known as Shahid Afridi (), is a Pakistani cricketer.

Afridi considers himself a better bowler than batsman, and has taken 48 Test wickets and over 300 in ODIs.

Currently Afridi is the leading wicket taker in the Twenty20 format taking 53 wickets from 43 matches. Shahid Afridi has signed to play for the Sydney Thunderin Australia ’ s Twenty20 Big Bash league.
