At the beginning of his term he led an anti-Corruption campaign against his predecessor and the head of the PLC Arnoldo Alemán politically isolating himself from the influential Liberal Party.

In August 2001 he publicly denounced corruption in the presidency, distancing himself from Alemán without publicly attacking him.

Joseph ibn Zabara ( end of 12th-beginning of 13th c. Alemán graduated at Seville University in 1564, studied later at Salamanca and Alcalá, and from 1571 to 1588 held a post in the treasury ; in 1594 he was arrested on suspicion of malversation, but was speedily released.

In 1571 Alemán married, unhappily, Catalina de Espinosa, and was constantly in money difficulties, being imprisoned for debt at Seville at the end of 1602.

Nothing is recorded of Alemán after 1609, but it is sometimes asserted that he was still living in 1617.

His arrival was much celebrated here, with fireworks and a hot air balloon exhibition put on by the Alemán brothers.

José Francisco Morazán Quezada was born on October 3, 1792, in Tegucigalpa ( then in the Captaincy General of Guatemala, now the capital of Honduras ) during the waning years of Spanish colonial rule to Eusebio Morazán Alemán and Guadalupe Quezada Borjas, both members of an upper-class Creole family dedicated to trade and agriculture.

In 1608, Alemán emigrated to America, and is said to have carried on business as a printer in Mexico.

In addition to the works already mentioned, Alemán is the author of a life ( 1604 ) of St. Anthony of Padua, and versions of two odes of Horace bear witness to his taste and metrical accomplishment.

Built for the Dirección de Pensiones Civiles y Retiro ( the National Pensions office, today ISSSTE ), the Centro Urbano ( or Multifamiliar ) Miguel Alemán ( 1947 – 50 ) and the Centro Urbano ( or Multifamiliar ) Benito Juárez ( 1951 – 52 ), both in the Colonia Roma, introduced formal ideas from Le Corbusier's Ville Radieuse into the urban fabric.
