The town was first settled around 1825 and was named Andersons Creek for the afore mentioned creek.

Gold was first discovered in Victoria around the same time at Andersons Creek, in Warrandyte, however, the district saw varied growth as periods of low density suburban development occurred sporadically throughout the mid-late 20th century.

A party formed by Mr. Louis John Michel, consisting of himself, Mr. William Haberlin, James Furnival, James Melville, James Headon, and B. Groenig, discovered the existence of gold in the quartz rocks of tile Yarra ranges, at at Andersons Creek, near Warrandyte, in the latter part of June, and showed it on the spot to Dr. Webb Richmond, on behalf of the Gold Discovery Committee on 6 July.

Andersons Creek flows from neighbouring South Warrandyte and Warranwood into the Yarra just before the beginning of Pound Bend.

This becomes evident when driving through Warrandyte on Heidelberg-Warrandyte Road, as the hills guide the road down towards Andersons Creek.

Warrandyte contains a general post office, tennis courts, a community centre, an RSL, several Bed and Breakfasts, restaurants, a police station, a CFA Fire Station, two kindergartens, two recreational ovals ( AFL Football and Cricket ), Warrandyte Community Church, Uniting and Anglican places of worship, Andersons Creek Cemetery and a Scout hall, canoe launching ramps, a skatepark, nurseries and tearooms and the Crystal Brook Holiday Centre.

His young friend, Gabriel ( Eugene Jackson ), runs to tell the Andersons what happened.

Route 18 continues northwestward into Colts Neck The freeway continues to the northwest through wooded land for several miles, crossing over Normandy Road and to the south of the Pebble Creek Golf Club.

The bridge can be reached by going approximately south from U. S. Route 322 on Cabin Drive which becomes Conestoga Creek Road.

It is located at ( 40. 20783 ,-76. 134667 ) to the northeast of Ephrata, Pennsylvania off Pennsylvania Route 272 on Cocalico Creek Road.

According to Ephrata Township supervisor Clark Stauffer, the bridge has been disassembled and will be reassembled a few miles downstream to replace an existing one lane Mill Creek Road bridge.

The bridge was reopened on Middle Creek Road in December 2010.
