The future transformation of the British Army is referred to as " Army 2020 ", Army 2020 is the result of the October 2010 Strategic Defence and Security Review and the number of following reviews / modifications thereafter.

Perhaps the most important aspect of Army 2020 is that the Territorial Army will become " fully integrated " with the Regular Army and " better prepared " for overseas deployments and operations.

This, however, will again decrease to just one Battalion as the 2nd Battalion is scrapped as part of the Army 2020 defence review.
