The group is formally part of the Neal A. Maxwell Institute for Religious Scholarship, formerly known as the Institute for the Study and Preservation of Ancient Religious Texts, at Brigham Young University ( BYU ).

The Universe ( formerly The Daily Universe ) is the official student newspaper for Brigham Young University ( BYU ) and was started in 1956.

Later, he was named Most Valuable Player of the 1988 Freedom Bowl, after entering the game as a substitute and leading BYU to a come-from-behind 20 – 17 victory over the Colorado Buffaloes.

Steve Young's younger brothers Mike and Tom both played quarterback at BYU after Steve, but neither received much playing time.

Imagine Dragons, a band that was initially formed in Provo in 2008, moved to Las Vegas after winning a BYU battle of the bands competition.

In 1997, FARMS became part of Brigham Young University after it was invited by Gordon B. Hinckley, President of the LDS Church and chairman of the BYU Board of Trustees.

Recently, sports show host " Softy " began a feud with another sports show host in Salt Lake City, Utah after they argued about their predicted outcomes of the Washington vs. BYU game on September 5, 2008.

BYU won their conference semi-final against Southern California Seahorses 2-1, with goals from David Clark and Jacob Cavanaugh, and only lost the conference final to Orange County Blue Star on penalties, after scoring two goals in the final 4 minutes to tie 2-2 in regulation time.

BYU Law students may participate in a wide variety of organizations while attending law school and after graduation.

The conference dissolved in early 1962 after four of its members ( BYU, Utah, New Mexico, and Wyoming ) departed to form the Western Athletic Conference in July.

Due to installation of new features in the stadium, the grounds crew and BYU Police have installed a number of security features to prevent students from entering the stadium after hours, including security cameras and motion detectors.

His best team was the 1996 unit, which notched a 10-2 record, but was left out of a bowl after losing to BYU in the inaugural WAC Championship game — to date, the last team to finish ranked in a major poll and not receive a bowl invitation while still being eligible to go.

The building of the LDS Church's Laie Hawaii Temple was a key predecessor to the establishment of BYU – Hawaii.
