Six of the larger species in the Delphinidae, the Orca and the Pilot ( long-finned and short-finned ), Melon-headed, Pygmy Killer and False Killer Whales, are commonly called whales, rather than dolphins ; they are also sometimes collectively known as " blackfish ".

Eurasian Pygmy Owls nest in tree cavities ; many times in old woodpecker holes.

Eurasian Pygmy Owls are serially monogamous, meaning that they only have one mate at a time ; therefore, the two owls may pair for more than one breeding season.

In addition, its scenic nature spots include beaches untouched by urban development ; the cascading Cawa-cawa Stepped Falls, and the 12 km² Pygmy or Bonsai forests in the thickly forested highlands of the municipality.
