Baltimore Area Council partners with approximately 800 community based organizations providing programs to more than 35, 000 youth each year.

Baltimore Area Council operates three full service Scout Shops either directly or thru license with the National Council, Boy Scouts of America in Baltimore City, Hanover and Whiteford in Harford County, Maryland.

In 2008, Baltimore Area Council announced ten top initiative programs to highlight the Boy Scouts of America 100th Anniversary in 2010.

The Top Ten Initiatives are: Star-Spangled Camporee at Ft. McHenry and surrounding City Parks, Scout Sunday And Sabbath, Anniversary Black Tie Gala, Gathering of Eagles, Flag Ceremonies, the 100 Great Moments in Baltimore Area Scouting History, Birthday Card Contest, Scouting Mural / Mosaic Project and the 100th Anniversary Service Project.

In February 2009, the Star-Spangled Banner Flag or the Great Garrison Flag ( also known as the 15 Star Flag ) was officially adopted as the Official U. S. Flag of the Baltimore Area Council, Boy Scouts of America by authority of the Council Executive Board.

In 2009, a new Rosenberg Welcome Center, formerly the Reservation HQ, and the expansion of the Dining Hall Pavilion at Camp Oest were constructed to accommodate attendance growth and goals in the 2008-2012 Baltimore Area Council Strategic Plan.

It was held at Baltimore Area Council's camp at Broad Creek Scout Reservation in an area known as Camp Spencer.

It is part of the Seaford Micropolitan Statistical Area and lies within Baltimore Hundred.

Severna Park is part of the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area, and is located approximately 8 miles north of Annapolis, 17 miles south of Baltimore, and 39 miles east of Washington, D. C. Severna Park's population was 37, 634 at the 2010 census.

Parkville, like the rest of the Baltimore Metropolitan Area, lies within the Humid subtropical climate zone, with hot summers and cool to chilly winters and abundant precipitation year-round.

Manchester is a rural commuting town where residents travel to work in the greater Baltimore Metropolitan Area and the greater Washington Metropolitan Area.

Other parts of APG not attached to the main installation include the Churchville Test Area in Harford County, and the Carroll Island and Graces Quarters in Baltimore County, Maryland.

The American Bishops assembled at the Third Plenary Council of Baltimore urged the Catholic people to read the Holy Bible.

Council members in New York included the US Consul to China and the superintendent of Baltimore public schools.

The Council also operates a Help Desk that serves Scout volunteers and Scout parents at the Baltimore Scout Shop.

With help from the B & O and the Baltimore City Council, the Union Railroad finally connected Marietta to Belpre, Ohio in 1860.

Of the thirty members on its board of directors, twelve were elected by shareholders while the other eighteen were appointed either by Maryland or the Baltimore City Council.

Like many Catholic universities in the United States, Seton Hall arose out of the Plenary Council of American Bishops, held in Baltimore, Maryland in 1844, with the goal of bringing Catholicism to higher education in order to help propagate the faith.

He attended the First Plenary Council of Baltimore in 1852, convened the first diocesan synod in October 1855, and was named an Assistant at the Pontifical Throne in 1862.

In 1866 he attended the Second Plenary Council of Baltimore, where he preached the opening sermon with remarkable self-control and composure given the fact he had learned only moments before that St. Patrick's Cathedral had been gutted by a fire.

When he failed to secure state support, he founded an independent Catholic school system which was taken into the Catholic Church's core at the Third Plenary Council of Baltimore, 1884, which mandated that all Parishes have a parochial school and that all Catholic children be sent to those schools.

Legislation was introduced in the Baltimore City Council for inssuance of $ 305 million in city revenue bonds for the project.

On June 23, the Baltimore Sun reported that the hotel project was met with skepticism by the Baltimore City Council, with many Council members questioning the need for the hotel project and the necessity for it to be publicly financed.

The Maryland Transit Administration's Bus Route 19 operates along Harford Road between the Carney Park-and-Ride and Downtown Baltimore.

This service operates three lines that provide commuter rail service to riders out of and into Baltimore, Washington, D. C., Frederick, Perryville, and Martinsburg, WV, as well as several other locations in between.

WBFF, virtual channel 45 ( digital channel 46 ), is the Fox-affiliated television station in Baltimore, Maryland ; it is the flagship station of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which also operates Baltimore's CW affiliate, WNUV-TV ( channel 54 ), through a local marketing agreement.

It operates a Clinical Center at Belvedere Square in Baltimore and has graduate centers in Timonium and Columbia, Maryland.

The company no longer operates water taxi vessels in Baltimore harbor.

It still operates from this tower today, which can be seen from Interstate 83 in Baltimore, not to mention from many parts of Baltimore County.

In 2009, Baltimore produced its own indigenous rock opera theatrical company, the all-volunteer Baltimore Rock Opera Society, which operates out of Charles Village.
