Basement Jaxx are a British electronic dance music duo from London, England consisting of Felix Buxton ( born 1971 ) and Simon Ratcliffe ( born 1 December 1969 ).
Basement Jaxx started in Brixton, South London, in 1994, where they held a regular club night called Basement Jaxx, which was also held in a variety of venues including The George IV, The Crypt and The Junction.
Basement Jaxx also released Jaxx Unreleased, a compilation album of B-sides, remixes, and other assorted material, in 1999.

Basement and recorded
Dylan invited the Hawks to join him in Woodstock, where they recorded a much-bootlegged and influential series of demos, subsequently released on LP as The Basement Tapes.

The album itself was recorded in studios in New York and Los Angeles in 1968, and followed the band's backing of Bob Dylan on his 1966 tour ( as The Hawks ) and time spent together in upstate New York recording material that was officially released in 1975 as The Basement Tapes, also with Dylan.
This saw the beginning of a productive two years for the band and they recorded three albums: The Tourists, Reality Effect, and Luminous Basement, as well as half a dozen singles, including " Blind Among the Flower " ( 1979 ), " The Loneliest Man in the World " ( 1979 ), " Don't Say I Told You So " ( 1980 ), and two major hits, the Dusty Springfield cover " I Only Want to Be with You " ( 1979 ) and " So Good to Be Back Home Again " ( 1980 ), both of which reached the top 10 in the UK.
