There is a town called Suiderkruis ( Southern Cross ) in the Western Cape province of South Africa,

He was the first European known to sight and enter the Congo River and to explore the West African coast between Cape St. Catherine and Cape Cross, almost from the equator to Walvis Bay in Namibia.

The first at another Monte Negro, the second at Cape Cross.

Diogo Cão, discovered the Congo in 1482 and reached Cape Cross in 1486 ; Bartolomeu Dias doubled the Cape of Good Hope in 1488, thus proving that the Indian Ocean was accessible by sea.

Cape Lookout or Cabo Fossatti or Cabo Vigia or Cabo Vig ¿ lante is a steep cape / bluff, 240 m high, marking the southern extremity of Elephant Island in the South Shetland Islands.
