He ordered Wang Rong be arrested, and Wang Li, in his panic, ordered his son to commit suicide — which in turn caused Emperor Cheng to become even more suspicious.

While the exact dates of Cheng's study with Yang are not clear, one of Yang's top students, scholar Chen Weiming wrote that Cheng studied six years with Yang .. Cheng, according to Yang's son Zhenji, ghostwrote Yang's second book Essence and Applications of Taijiquan or The Substance and Application of T ' ai Chi Ch ' uan ( Taijiquan tiyong quanshu, 1934 ), for which Cheng also wrote a preface and most likely arranged for the calligraphic dedications.

Writing later in the 11th century, the Song Dynasty ( 960 – 1279 ) scholar Gao Cheng wrote that the small wheelbarrow of his day, with shafts pointing forward ( so that it was pulled ), was the direct descendent of Zhuge Liang's wooden ox.

China scholar Cheng Li said that Hu's failure in implementing the Harmonious Society program has been his " gravest pitfall " during his tenure.

His grandson Cheng Xiao became a known scholar of the time later.

For many years passengers arriving at the Chiang Kai-shek International Airport were greeted by signs in Chinese welcoming them to the " Chung Cheng International Airport ".

The Mongolic-speaking Xianbei originally formed a part of the Donghu confederation, but existed even before that time, as evidenced by a mention in the Guoyu (" 晉語八 " section ) which states that during the reign of King Cheng of Zhou ( reigned 1042-1021 BC ) the Xianbei came to participate at a meeting of Zhou subject-lords at Qiyang ( 岐阳 ) ( now Qishan County ) but were only allowed to perform the fire ceremony under the supervision of Chu ( 楚 ), since they were not vassals by covenant ( 诸侯 ).

The tomb was accidentally discovered in August 1955, when the Hong Kong Government was leveling a hill slope for the construction of resettlement buildings at Lei Cheng Uk Village ( present-day Lei Cheng Uk Estate ).

Moreover, a 1: 1 replica of the inside of the Lei Cheng Uk Han Tomb is displayed at the Hong Kong Museum of History.

As war was raging across China at that time, it took several years before Cheng Man-ch ' ing was able to present himself for study.

In 1964, Cheng moved with his family ( Madame Cheng, two sons, and three daughters ) to the United States, where he taught at the New York T ' ai Chi Association at 211 Canal Street in Manhattan.

In the older form each movement counts as a posture, whereas in the Cheng form postures are counted only the first time they are performed, and rarely or not at all when they are repeated.

Moreover, certain postures which appear in the Cheng form, such as High Pat on Horse, are not counted at all.

Hong Tianguifu escaped to the mountains near Stone Town ( Shi Cheng, 石城 ) after his token force was wiped out, but he was caught on 25 October 1864 by Qing soldiers searching for him and was subsequently executed on 18 November 1864 at the age of sixteen.
