Folke Bernadotte, Count of Wisborg ( in Swedish: Greve af Wisborg ; 2 January 1895 – 17 September 1948 ) was a Swedish diplomat and nobleman noted for his negotiation of the release of about 31, 000 prisoners from German concentration camps during World War II, including 450 Danish Jews from Theresienstadt released on 14 April 1945.

On 28 April, Hitler learned that Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler had contacted Count Folke Bernadotte in Lübeck to offer Germany's surrender to the western Allies ; the offer had been declined.

In 1948, he traveled to the Middle East as the chief aide to Sweden's Count Folke Bernadotte, who had been appointed by the UN to mediate the conflict.
