Shortly after the bridge, MD 450 separates from MD 3 and heads east as Defense Highway through Crofton, where the highway intersects MD 424.

Here, the Baltimore – Washington Parkway ends and MD 295 continues north unsigned on Russell Street, which carries the route north into downtown Baltimore.

US 50 continues east from this interchange as the John Hanson Highway, a freeway, and MD 201 continues north on Kenilworth Avenue, a surface road that closely parallels the B – W Parkway to the east past the interchange.

Just after the B-W Parkway, I-95 / I-495 passes an interchange with MD 201, which connects to the southern terminus of the B-W Parkway at US 50 near the D. C. line.

Squeezing past Argyle Park and Sligo Creek Golf Course, the Beltway interchanges with MD 97 northwest of Silver Spring, then follows an alignment formerly known as Rock Creek Parkway.

The two carriageways of I-495 temporarily widen to five lanes each until the MD 190 and Cabin John Parkway interchanges.

( MD 190 provides access to the northwestern portion of Washington, D. C., and to the Potomac and Great Falls, Maryland areas of Maryland's Montgomery County, while the Cabin John Parkway extends to the Clara Barton Parkway along the Potomac River.

I-895 meets I-695 ( Baltimore Beltway ) at Exit 3, then crosses Hammonds Ferry Road in Baltimore Highlands before Exit 4 with MD 295 ( Baltimore – Washington Parkway ), where the speed limit drops to.

Two routes converge at the northern and western ends of the interchange: US 50, which follows the first of the Baltimore-Washington Parkway from the DC line, and the B-W Parkway itself, which splits in the northern quadrant of the interchange into two connectors ; one connector leads to and from US 50, while the other connects to MD 201.

Within the interchange, the B-W Parkway proper splits from US 50, which interchanges with MD 201 before continuing east as the John Hanson Highway.

MD 201, after interchanging with US 50, itself splits from the Kenilworth Avenue Freeway, and the remaining segment of this freeway merges with the B-W Parkway at a wye junction within the interchange.

On its south end, it merges with Interstate 295 ( I-295 ) at the southern end of the 11th Street Bridges ; its north end is at the border with Maryland where it continues as Maryland Route 295 ( MD 295 ) and then the Baltimore-Washington Parkway.

MD 100 also connects to Interstate 95 ( I-95 ), US 1, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway ( MD 295 ), and I-97.

There are then interchanges with MD 108, MD 104, Snowden River Parkway and MD 103.

Solomons Island Road intersects MD 2N ( Calvert Cliffs Parkway ), which provides access to the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant and another segment of MD 765 which runs to the west of the route on Saw Mill Road.

In the early 1960s, the corporation moved to Ford Parkway in the Highland Park neighborhood of St. Paul where Norris lived.
