Dachau () is a town in Upper Bavaria, in the southern part of Germany ( Dokow in English ).

The town is also known for its proximity to the infamous Dachau concentration camp built in 1933 by the Nazis, in which tens of thousands of prisoners were murdered.

A Roman trade road between Salzburg and today ’ s Augsburg is said to have run through Dachau.

Dachau is located 20 km northwest of Munich.

By allowing it to run to seed and through deliberate cultivation by the town of Dachau the canal is only still recognizable as such between Frühlingstrasse and the Pollnbach.
