Moreno's influences include such bands as The Cure, Bad Brains, The Smiths, My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins, Duran Duran, The Smashing Pumpkins, Depeche Mode, Helmet, Jawbox, Faith No More, Hum, Kool Keith, Alice in Chains, Tool, Jane's Addiction and Weezer, and claims that Deftones ' 2006 album, Saturday Night Wrist, is more of a compromise between all of the members ' influences, ranging from their brutal and brooding heavy signature seen on Adrenaline and Around the Fur to the more experimental sound heard on White Pony and Deftones.

B-Real formed a rap metal group, Kush, with Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter and Fear Factory members Christian Olde Wolbers and Raymond Herrera.

Critic Johnny Loftus writes, " Rock critics usually reserve a special place for Deftones above or at least away from the rest of the turn-of-the-century metal movement Deftones have always seemed more curious, more willing to incorporate traditionally revered sounds like D. C. hardcore and dream pop into their Northern California alt-metal.

Many high-profile artists have recorded in Studio Litho, including Soundgarden, Screaming Trees, Dave Matthews Band, and Deftones, as well as both Brad and Pearl Jam.

On October 5, 2000, Make Yourself went Platinum ( 1, 000, 000 copies sold ), and shortly after, the band went on tour with Deftones.

During the making of Deftones ' White Pony, Moreno began work on a side project, Team Sleep.

During this time, he also drummed for the Deftones on the side, when the band was having problems landing a permanent and dedicated drummer.

With the band's fourth album, Deftones, Delgado began to put more emphasis on keyboards and synthesizers as part of his repertoire.

" The System of a Down trio also came together on November 20, 2009 and performed System songs together for a benefit honoring coma-stricken Chi Cheng of The Deftones, with Chino Moreno of Deftones singing on lead vocals.

They also toured with acts such as Ozomatli, Deftones, Chevelle, Hoobastank and Phantom Planet, as well as earning a spot on the Sno-Core Tour with Sparta, Glassjaw and Hot Water Music.

After Limp Bizkit finished a tour with the band Deftones, Durst and DJ Lethal were asked by Max Cavalera, formerly of the band Sepultura, to appear on " Bleed ", a song from the self-titled debut of his new band Soulfly.

Soulfly supported Dark Ages on a world tour with various bands such as Deftones, Korn, Throwdown, and Skindred that has stretched through North America, South America, Europe, Russia, and Australia.

The Sacramento band Deftones released a song called Xerces on their 2006 album Saturday Night Wrist.

Deadsy went on another tour with the Deftones that began in the fall.

This technique was later used by Stephen Carpenter of Deftones so he could play the songs he originally recorded on a six-string without losing the feel of a seven-string, as Limp Bizkit and the Deftones had toured together in the mid 90's.

It has hosted such big names as Ian Brown, The Stranglers, Super Furry Animals, Deftones, Pink Floyd, The Cure, The Coral, Blur, Oasis, George Clinton, Nirvana, Manic Street Preachers, The Libertines, The Ramones, Billy Talent, Fightstar, Lost Prophets, Babyshambles, Lee " Scratch " Perry, Supergrass, It Bites and Death Cab for Cutie.

The Sunshine Theater has hosted a number of notable acts such as The Strokes, Snoop Dogg, Stone Temple Pilots, The Smashing Pumpkins, Modest Mouse, Rancid, Coheed and Cambria, Social Distortion, Deftones and Deadmau5 among others.

Artists such as John Mayer and Tracy Chapman were added as harder rock bands like Korn and Deftones were dropped.

Scuzz broadcasts band ' Take-Overs ' where artists present music video shows, as well as interviews with artists such as Ozzy Osbourne, Deftones, Machine Head, Kiss to smaller bands that are deemed up and coming.

The band went on to do opening shows with such bands as Rise Against, Fall Out Boy, Deftones and Good Charlotte among others.
