They returned to record Disraeli Gears in New York between 11 May and 15 May 1967.

Disraeli Gears not only features hits " Strange Brew " and " Tales of Brave Ulysses ", but also " Sunshine of Your Love ".

Although they consistently played " Tales of Brave Ulysses " and " Sunshine of Your Love ", several songs from Disraeli Gears were quickly dropped from performances in mid-1967, favouring longer jams instead of short pop songs.

In fact, at their 2005 reunion shows in London, Cream played only three songs from Disraeli Gears: " Outside Woman Blues ", " We're Going Wrong ," and " Sunshine of Your Love.

Psychedelia in 1960s Australian art was not common, a famous example is the cover of the Cream album Disraeli Gears ( 1967 ), created by Martin Sharp.

The group was heavily inspired by seminal British blues-rock band Cream ( with which Pappalardi had been a frequent collaborator: he produced Disraeli Gears, Goodbye and Wheels of Fire, also contributing viola, brass, bells and organ to the latter ) and also comprised keyboardist Steve Knight, who was added after Landsberg left to form another group, Hammer, with Janick.

Martin co-wrote one of Cream's most famous songs, " Tales of Brave Ulysses ", created the cover art for Cream's Disraeli Gears and Wheels of Fire albums, and in the 1970s, he became a champion of singer Tiny Tim, and of Sydney's embattled Luna Park.

" White Room " was proposed to be released on Cream's 1967 album Disraeli Gears, but was rejected by Atco Records.

The song was similar in style and composition to " Tales of Brave Ulysses ", which was written by Eric Clapton with Martin Sharp and was released on Disraeli Gears.

Some of the Vagrants ' recordings were produced by Felix Pappalardi, who was also working with Cream on their album Disraeli Gears.
