Elective offerings in Visual and Performing Arts include: all art and music classes, Acting I, Actors ’ Workshop, Creative Writing I and II, Journalism, TV Production I and II, and Film Studies.

Elective subjects include Indonesian, Music, Drama, Food, Dance, Sewing, Art, Photography, Business Admin, Woodwork, Metalwork, Information Technology and Life Sciences.

Northgate School Board has determined that a students must earn 26 credits to graduate including: Mathematics 4 credits, Science 4 credits, English 4 credits, Social Studies 4 credits, Computer applications 1. 5 credit, Oral Communications 0. 5 credit, Physical Education 1. 75 credits, Health. 25 credits, and Elective 6 credits.

Elective classes are offered in vocal music, instrumental music, art, wood working, and family and consumer sciences.

There are three higher classes of membership, Elective Member, Honorary Fellow and Fellow.

It also offers the Music Elective Programme ( MEP ) and the Regional Studies Programme ( RSP ) both offered only by a few selected schools.

TKGS is one of the few schools in Singapore that offer the Music Elective Programme ( MEP ) to students who wish to pursue Music as a subject in the Cambridge ' O ' Level examinations.

TKGS served as a Music Elective Programme ( MEP ) centre for students who were taking music as an ' O ' Level subject but whose schools did not have suitable facilities.
