Lander also has experience as a voice actor, with a resume dating back to 1969 where he " dramatically reproduced " Elvis Presley quotations for the Pop Chronicles music documentary and 1970 when he was the voice of Jerry Lewis in the Filmation series Will the Real Jerry Lewis Please Sit Down.

He had already been working on the animated feature Pinocchio in Outer Space which was primarily produced by Belvision Studios, and also brought in the Journey Back to Oz project, which would be released over ten years later by Filmation.

Lou also provided the voices of Bat-Mite, the Bat-Computer, and Clayface ( First Appearance ) on The New Adventures of Batman, a Filmation cartoon in 1977.

This was Ultimate's third Filmation title ( fifth if the Filmation II games, Nightshade and Gunfright, are counted ), and by that time other publishers were also releasing their own isometric Filmation-inspired games.

Since 1982, they also released Filmation's TV shows such as Lassie's Rescue Rangers, The Lone Ranger, Shazam !, Blackstar, and The Adventures of Zorro, plus the only Filmation movie released at the time, Journey Back to Oz.

Ultimate ran into some criticism in the gaming media for their repeated use of the Filmation technique in subsequent games Alien 8, Nightshade, Gunfright and Pentagram, though Nightshade and Gunfright used Filmation II, a variation on the engine, resulting in a similar visual style, but significantly different gameplay, with scrolling around a large world and arcade-like play, rather than the room-based puzzles of the earlier Filmation titles.

In terms of gameplay and features Pentagram was the most advanced of the Filmation titles, but some sections of the gaming press were becoming tired of the concept and accused Ultimate of unoriginality.

Filmation later went on to produce the hit He-Man and the Masters of the Universe ( 1983 – 85 ), which occasionally used modified character and set designs from Star Trek: The Animated Series, mostly as background material.

This was a typical working desk for animators, layout artists, and background designers at Filmation in 1983.

In contrast to the rapid jump cuts during action sequences, another Filmation trademark was the recurring use of long establishing-shots in which the camera would pan slowly across a very wide background painting, thus filling up screen time with sequences requiring little or no animation.

Using the name of his wife Yvette Blais as a pseudonym, Ellis ( along with Norm Prescott, who used the pseudonym Jeff Michael, in reference to his sons Jeff and Michael ) composed nearly all of the background music for cartoon studio Filmation from 1968 to 1982, according to the booklets for many of the DVDs for the studio's shows, such as Ark II, Space Academy, and Jason of Star Command.

Filmation routinely included a plug for its music publisher, Shermley Music, in the closing credits of most of its shows.

( Marc would later become a composer in his own right, assisting his father without credit on later Filmation scores, and even receiving onscreen credit for co-composing the theme music to the 1979 Flash Gordon cartoon.

The CBS Saturday morning series The New Adventures of Superman produced by Filmation Studios — as well as The Adventures of Superboy from the same animation house — featured the iconic " shirt rip " to reveal the " S " or Clark Kent removing his unbuttoned white dress shirt in a secluded spot, usually thanks to stock animation which was re-used over dozens of episodes, to reveal his costume underneath while uttering his famed line " This is a job for Superman!

The series was produced by Filmation in association with Paramount Television and ran for two seasons from 1973 to 1974 on NBC, airing a total of twenty-two half-hour episodes.

An early Filmation proposal for this series had children assigned to each of the senior officers as cadets, including a young Vulcan for Mr. Spock.
