* Freddie Mercury ( born Farrokh Bulsara ) of the rock band Queen was born in Stone Town, Zanzibar.

Originally, the lead character was a young Jewish broker named Freddie Goldsmith but Stone changed it to Bud Fox to avoid the stereotype that Wall Street was controlled by Jews.

Brothers Sly Stone and singer / guitarist Freddie Stone combined their bands ( Sly & the Stoners and Freddie & the Stone Souls ) in 1967.
