All of what is known today as Atlantic County was once called Egg Harbor Township, the eastern half of the original County of Gloucester.

It runs from an intersection with U. S. Route 322 and County Route 536 Spur in Monroe Township, Gloucester County to an intersection with Interstate 76 and Interstate 295 in Bellmawr, Camden County.

Collings Lakes is a census-designated place and unincorporated area located within parts of Buena Vista Township and Folsom Borough in Atlantic County, and Monroe Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States.

Egg Harbor Township was first mentioned as part of Gloucester County in records dating back to March 20, 1693, and at times was called New Weymouth.

Galloway Township was incorporated by Royal Charter on April 4, 1774, from portions of Egg Harbor Township, when it was still part of Gloucester County.
