By 1968 Parsons had come to the attention of The Byrds ' bassist, Chris Hillman, via Larry Spector ( The Byrds ' business manager ), as a possible replacement band member following the departures of David Crosby and Michael Clarke from the group in late 1967.

Parsons had been acquainted with Hillman since the pair had met in a bank during 1967 and in February 1968 he passed an audition for the band, being initially recruited as a jazz pianist but soon switching to rhythm guitar and vocals.

Prior to Parsons ' departure from The Byrds, he had accompanied the two Rolling Stones to Stonehenge ( along with McGuinn and Hillman ) in the English county of Wiltshire, where Richards had a house near the ancient site.

By 1981 Clark had left and the group continued briefly as " McGuinn / Hillman ".

) It can be speculated that Hillman had planned to use Boswell as its primary processing facility after the link-up, thus the huge tipple.

No sooner had The Byrds ' tour ended than Chris Hillman persuaded the owners of the Whisky a Go Go to give the band an audition.

After absorbing Bond Cars in 1969, which had also been a maker of three-wheeler cars ( though in their case with Hillman Imp 875 cc rear engines ) Reliant used the Bond name for the iconic 1970s Bond Bug, a sporty three-wheeler designed by the Ogle designer Tom Karen.

In his senior year, director Tim Hillman had planned a production of " The Elephant Man " specifically to feature Perry as John Merrick along with Vanessa Smith, and future Les Misérables star Lisa Capps.

In 1930 Spencer Wilks was joined by his brother, Maurice, who had also been at Hillman as chief engineer.

Thereafter, the Iowa-born Townsend, who had also been his party's gubernatorial nominee in 1916 against the Democrat Charles Hillman Brough, was the long-term Republican national committeeman from Arkansas, having served until 1961, when Winthrop Rockefeller assumed the position.

At this time, velocipedes ( cycles ) had wheels of nearly equal size, the front slightly larger, although to grow much larger in the penny-farthings Starley soon made with William Hillman.

The new Ford cab was used again in April 1966 with a new version of the Carrimore Car Transporter ( 1138 ) which had been re-designed to carry up to six Corgi cars, and which also featured in Gift Set 41 along with six cars ; Ford Cortina Estate ( 440 ), Rover 2000 ( 252 ), Hillman Imp ( 251 ), Mini Cooper De-Luxe ( 249 ), Austin Seven ( 225 ) and Mini Cooper Monte Carlo 1966 ( 321 ).

The coupe body had also turned up, with less powerful engines, in the Hillman Imp Californian announced in January 1967 and the more luxurious Singer Chamois coupe.

Carl Christian Hillman Jacobsen ( 2 March 1842 – 11 January 1914 ) was a Danish brewer, art collector and philanthropist, the son of J. C. Jacobsen, who founded the brewery Carlsberg and named it after him.

Roosevelt appointed Hillman to the National Defense Advisory Committee in 1940 and named him associate director of the Office of Production Management in 1941 ; when FDR created the War Production Board in 1942, he appointed Hillman to serve as the head of its labor division.

A street in the neighborhood, Hillman Avenue, is named for him.

At age 15 Hillman went to Los Angeles to see the Kentucky Colonels bluegrass band at the Ash Grove, and later convinced his family to allow him to travel by train to Berkeley for lessons from mandolinist Scott Hambly.

After an early 1977 British tour reunited him with Roger McGuinn and Gene Clark, the trio stayed together for two McGuinn-Clark-Hillman albums ( on which Hillman continued his songwriting collaboration with Knobler ) and one under the McGuinn-Hillman name, with a hit single in 1979's " Don't You Write Her Off ".

Hillman was married three times, lastly to Margot McLean-Hillman, who survived him.

David was also unhappy when his mother married Richard Hillman in July 2002 but grew to accept him.

Hillman qualifies his many references to gods as differing from a literalistic approach saying that for him they are aides memoires, i. e. sounding boards employed " for echoing life today or as bass chords giving resonance to the little melodies of life.

Gail Platt married Richard Hillman ( Brian Capron ), a financial advisor, who would go on to leave Duggie Ferguson to die, murder his ex-wife Patricia, attempt to murder his mother-in-law, Audrey Roberts, murder Maxine Peacock and attempt to murder Emily Bishop.

A year later, he began to negotiate with another club member to use his Hillman Avenger for the Kames Stages, a single-staged rally venue not far from McRae's home.

After leaving the group in late 1968, Parsons and fellow Byrd Chris Hillman formed The Flying Burrito Brothers in 1969, releasing their debut, The Gilded Palace of Sin, the same year.

Consequently, when The Byrds ' Columbia recording contract was renewed on February 29, 1968, it was only original members Roger McGuinn and Chris Hillman who signed it.

Parsons, like fellow new recruit Kevin Kelley, was hired as a sideman and received a salary from McGuinn and Hillman.

In later years, this led Hillman to state " Gram was hired.

" However, these comments overlook the fact that Parsons, like Kelley, was considered a bona fide member of the band during 1968 and as such, was given equal billing alongside McGuinn, Hillman, and Kelley on the Sweetheart of the Rodeo album and in contemporary press coverage of the band.

There has been some doubt expressed by Hillman over the sincerity of Parsons ' protest.

Returning to Los Angeles, Parsons sought out Hillman, and the two formed The Flying Burrito Brothers with bassist Chris Ethridge and pedal steel player Sneaky Pete Kleinow.

The album's original songs were the result of a very productive songwriting partnership between Parsons and Hillman, who were sharing a bachelor pad in LA during this period.

He was replaced by lead guitarist Bernie Leadon, while Hillman reverted to bass.

Faced with a dearth of new material, most of the material was hastily written in the studio by Leadon, Hillman, and Parsons, with two Gilded Palace of Sin outtakes thrown into the mix.

Disenchanted with the band, Parsons left the Burritos in mutual agreement with Hillman, who was at his wits end after two years of babysitting Gram.

In a recent interview with American Songwriter Chris Hillman explained that, “ The greatest legacy of the Flying Burrito Brothers and Gram is we were the alternative country band.

We were the outlaw country band for a brief period ,” says Hillman.

He contributed to a number of publishers, including DC, Harvey Comics, Hillman Periodicals and Crestwood Publications, where he and Simon created the genre of romance comics.

The Royals hired Trey Hillman, formerly the manager of the Nippon Ham Fighters and a minor league manager with the New York Yankees, to be the 15th manager in franchise history.
