For a very brief period in 1944 the Wills band included 23 members., and around mid year he toured Northern California and the Pacific Northwest with 21 pieces in the orchestra. Billboard reported that Wills outgrossed Harry James, Benny Goodman, " both Dorsies, et al.

Duke Ellington's big band had a rhythm section that included a jazz guitarist, a double bass player, and a drummer ( not visible ).

" Love Hurts " was remade by Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris, and again by heavy metal band Nazareth.

In 1990, her talent led to a binding oral contract with Teaspoon Productions, headed by Chris Stokes and Earl Harris, who obtained her gigs as a backing vocalist for their R & B boy band Immature, and arranged the production of a demo tape.

Mayall continued the experiment of formations without drummers on two more albums, although he took on a new electric blues-rock-R & B band in guitarist Harvey Mandel and bassist Larry Taylor, both plucked from Canned Heat, and wailing violinist Don " Sugarcane " Harris, lately of the Johnny Otis Show.

The Whistle Test most notably was the British television debut of the American glam punk band New York Dolls, which although host Bob Harris derided the group as " mock rock ," comparing them unfavorably to The Rolling Stones, their performance influenced the following Punk Rock scene such as the Sex Pistols and The Clash as well as alternative bands like R. E. M.
