Beginning on 20 April 1934, it was under the administration of SS national leader, Heinrich Himmler who in 1936 was appointed Chief of German Police ( Chef der Deutschen Polizei ) by Hitler.

Also on that date, Hitler appointed Himmler chief of all German police outside Prussia.

On 17 June 1936 Hitler appointed Himmler as Chief of all German police and decreed the unification of all police forces.

However Himmler, who had been appointed Chef der Deutschen Polizei ( Chief of German Police ) by Hitler, controlled the SS, the Gestapo, the Orpo ( uniformed police ) and all investigation units.

Rosenberg built on the works of Arthur de Gobineau, Houston Stewart Chamberlain and Madison Grant, as well as the beliefs of Hitler.

On 3 October 1939, the military districts " Lodz " ( Łódź ) and " Krakau " ( Kraków ) were set up under command of major generals Gerd von Rundstedt and Wilhelm List, and Hitler appointed Hans Frank and Arthur Seyß-Inquart as civil heads, respectively.

In 1944, after the failure of the assassination attempt on Hitler in which he had been involved, senior SS and Gestapo official Arthur Nebe went into hiding on an island in the Wannsee but was later arrested after a rejected mistress betrayed him.

Among the indicted who made their appearance were Hermann Göring ( suicide by potassium cyanide ), Rudolf Hess ( life internment ), Franz von Papen ( Vice-Chancellor under Hitler, acquitted ), Arthur Seyss-Inquart ( Austrian Chancellor, Nazi Commissioner, hanged ) and Joachim von Ribbentrop ( Foreign Minister, hanged ).

Arthur Nebe was involved in various plots including the 20 July 1944, bomb plot against German dictator Adolf Hitler.

It was commanded by Arthur Nebe until 1944, when Nebe was denounced and executed after the failed attempt to kill Adolf Hitler in July 1944.

Adolf Hitler instructed the Gauleiters, namely Forster and his rival Arthur Greiser, in the Warthegau to Germanize the area, promising that " There would be no questions asked " about how this " Germanization " was to be accomplished.

The Historian and Hitler-Biographer Joachim C. Fest describes Arthur de Gobineau, in particular his negative views on race mixing as expressed in his essay, as an eminent influence on Adolf Hitler and National socialism.

Hitler had announced that Posen must be held at all costs, and Greiser was now viewed as a deserter and coward, particularly by Goebbels who wrote the following in his diary on 2 March 1945, in which he labeled Greiser " a real disgrace to the ( Nazi ) Party.

As Kershaw notes, the completely different ways Forster and Greiser sought to " Germanize " their Gaue with Forster simply having the local Polish population in his Gau signing forms saying they had " German blood " and Greiser carrying out a program of brutal ethnic cleansing of Poles in his Gau showed both how Hitler set events in motion, and how his Gauleiters could carry out totally different policies in pursuit of what they believed to be Hitler's wishes.

Both Greiser and Himmler complained to Hitler that Forster was allowing thousands of Poles to be classified as Germans, but Hitler merely bounced the problem back to them, telling them to go sort out their problems with Forster on their own.

By 1938, they had all become wealthy men, but their wealth was dependent on Hitler ’ s continuing goodwill and willingness to turn a blind eye to their corruption.

The early military SS was kept quite separate from the regular SS and Dietrich introduced early regulations that the military SS answered directly to Hitler, and not Himmler, and for several months even ordered his troops to wear the black SS uniform without a swastika armband to separate the soldiers from other SS units once the black uniform had become common throughout Germany.

This replacement infant is the child who then grows up to become the infamous Adolf Hitler.

For some Chicagoans, however, the appearance of the Graf Zeppelin over their fair city was not a welcome sight, as the airship had become a prominent reminder of the ascendancy of Adolf Hitler to power earlier that same year.

Raeder believed that if Hitler should make such a mistake that a vengeful Britain would ally itself with the United States, who Raeder saw as a rival for " world mastery ", the English-speaking powers " will become the that opponent with whom we will have to reckon with in the near-future ".

In early 1942, Raeder become involved in a scandal when it was discovered that he had abused his position to buy more groceries than the rationing permitted, but Hitler ordered the matter to be covered up.

Finally, Raeder claimed that Dönitz was unqualified to become Commander-in-Chief of the Navy in 1943, and that Dönitz was only appointed to that position because Hitler preferred an unqualified " Hitler-boy " like Dönitz to qualified officers like himself.

After giving his first speech for the Party on October 16 in the Hofbräukeller, Hitler quickly rose up to become a leading figure in the DAP.

Auden, September 1, 1939: " Accurate scholarship can / Unearth the whole offense / From Luther until now / That has driven a culture mad, Find what occurred at Linz ...." To the end of his life, Hitler considered Linz to be his " home town ", and envisioned extensive architectural schemes for it, wanting it to become the main cultural centre of the Third Reich.

Rundstedt urged OKW to halt the offensive, lest the " bulge " created by the German advance become a " second Stalingrad ", but Hitler was determined to press on.

Todt had become convinced that the war could not be won and thought himself indispensable enough to say as much to Hitler.

Thornley also argued that Germany was almost defeated and, if Hitler were assassinated, he would become a martyr to some Germans, and give rise to speculation that Germany might have won if Hitler had survived.
