Interstate 170 ( I-170 ) is the designation for an interstate route in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area.

Interstate 170 ( abbreviated I-170 ) is the former designation for a freeway in Baltimore, Maryland that is now designated as part of US 40.

I-170's future was left in doubt after extended protest from environmental groups led to the cancellation of the segment of Interstate 70 between Security Boulevard ( Exit 94 ) and I-170 ( future Exit 96 ) on September 3, 1981.

As a result of this cancellation, it was proposed to connect the existing I-170 to I-95 via the southern portion of the original proposed I-70 expansion, with the entire spur redesignated Interstate 595 ; however, this segment was canceled on July 22, 1983 in the face of further opposition.

The southern two interchanges on I-170 ( at I-64 / US 40 and Galleria Parkway ) were reconstructed as part of the first phase of the New I-64 project.

I-170 would have begun at a directional-T interchange with I-70 where Baltimore Street and the Amtrak Northeast Corridor cross Gwynns Falls.

Besides ending at the western edge of the central business district, I-170 would also run further south than the original East-West Expressway proposal.

Had I-170 been completed in its entirety, it would have run as follows from I-70:

Curiously, I-170's three-way semi-directional interchange with I-70 was planned to be partially integrated with I-70's interchange with Hilton Parkway ; diagrams of the interchange show that the ramp from eastbound I-70 to eastbound I-170 would have diverged within the latter interchange and run alongside I-70's eastbound carriageway to the western terminus of I-170, where it would diverge.

The southern portion of I-170 was built using St. Louis County funds in the 1960s through a shallow valley.

I-170 was originally intended to provide an inner beltway within I-270 through St. Louis County extending to I-55 in the South County area ; however, the portion of the route south of I-64 / US 40 was canceled due to local opposition.

Most notably, the new interchange includes direct access to I-170 from eastbound I-64 ; however, access to Galleria Parkway from northbound I-170 was eliminated.

It proceeds northwest past several cemeteries, crosses, under I-170 within St. John, then continues through Breckenridge Hills and St. Ann.

The City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, Kinloch, Berkeley and Ferguson reached agreement on a redevelopment plan for of land on the northeast corner of I-70 and I-170, along the eastern edge of the airport.

These ramps, which were partially constructed when the highway was built and torn down in 2010, would have connected US 1 with I-170 in the direction of I-70.

In the 3-A system, I-170 was brought into existence, and was planned as a freeway spur from I-70 ( which would continue south toward the current alignment of I-95 ) through the Franklin St .- Mulberry St. corridor formerly followed by the East – West Expressway to the west edge of the central business district, connecting to a new route named Harbor City Boulevard ( now known as Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard ).

In 2008, I-64 was closed from I-270 to I-170, re-opening December 15, 2008.

The BRPD is active in traffic enforcement on Natural Bridge Road as well as I-170.

The speed cameras are on a mobile trailer which is located on top of I-170 on the Lackland Road Overpass.

Vinita Park is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States, located just east of I-170 and south of St. Charles Rock Road.

I-170, also known as the Inner Belt Expressway, is an highway traveling north-south through the St. Louis suburbs of Hazelwood, Berkeley, St. John, Charlack, Vinita Park, Sycamore Hills, Bel-Ridge, Olivette, Overland, University City, Ladue, Clayton, and Richmond Heights, ending just north of the city of Brentwood.

Interstate 89 links Concord with Lebanon and the state of Vermont to the northwest, while Interstate 93 connects the city to Plymouth, Littleton, and the White Mountains to the north and Manchester to the south.

The Mackinac Bridge carries Interstate 75 and the Lakes Michigan and Huron components of the Great Lakes Circle Tours across the straits and connects the city of St. Ignace on the north end with the village of Mackinaw City on the south.

The Richmond-San Rafael Bridge on Interstate 580 which connects Marin and Contra Costa counties, the San Francisco – Oakland Bay Bridge on Interstate 80 which connects Alameda and San Francisco counties, the Hayward-San Mateo Bridge on Highway 92 which connects Alameda and San Mateo counties and the Dumbarton Bridge on Highway 84 which connects Alameda and San Mateo counties.

State Route 504, locally known as the Spirit Lake Memorial Highway, connects with Interstate 5 at Exit 49, to the west of the mountain.

The nearly-completed Interstate 22 connects Memphis with Birmingham, Alabama, via northern Mississippi ( including Tupelo ) and northwestern Alabama.

Major roads include Interstate 5, Oregon Route 99E, and Oregon Route 22 which connects West Salem across the Willamette River via the Marion Street and Center Street bridges.

U. S. Highway 77 connects to Interstate 37 at Corpus Christi.

U. S. Highway 83 connects with Interstate 35 at Laredo.

Interstate 35W connects Fort Worth with Hillsboro to the south and the cities of Denton and Gainesville to the north.

What remains of the route is the path of Interstate 84 / Route 6, which connects to Manchester's Middle Turnpike East.

Part of State Route 238 until 1983, and still considered the same route ( part of Route 238 ) by the California Department of Transportation ( Caltrans ), it connects Interstate 580 in Castro Valley ( where SR 238 continues south ) with Interstate 880 in San Leandro.

As it connects two auxiliary routes of Interstate 80, it would normally use a three-digit number ending in 80, but of the nine possible numbers, two ( 180 and 480 ) were in use by State Routes ( the latter an Interstate until 1968 ), and the remainder were already in use by other California auxiliary routes.

The Interstate 355 toll road extension has been completed and now connects with Interstate 80.

The main artery for the area is Darnestown Road ( Designated as MD 28 west of its intersection with Key West Avenue ) which connects North Potomac with the other affluent communities nearby ( Potomac and Bethesda ) and provides access to Interstate 270 ( Exit-6 ).
