I-37 begins in Corpus Christi on the Gulf Coast and heads north to San Antonio.

The Interstate roughly parallels US 181 and US 281 and in fact, US 181 both begins and ends at I-37.

Prior to I-37, the route between Corpus Christi and San Antonio was served by a combination of State Highway 9 ( SH 9 ) from Corpus Christi to Three Rivers and U. S. 281 ( US 281 ) from Three Rivers to San Antonio.

Prior to I-37, the routing between Corpus Christi and San Antonio was covered by SH 9 from Corpus Christi to Three Rivers and US 281 from Three Rivers to San Antonio.

No sections of US 281 were removed from the State Highway System as a result of the construction of I-37, but the two do share the same alignment at two different points between San Antonio and Three Rivers.

Also, US 281 was rerouted onto I-37 in San Antonio in 1978.

The southbound I-37 bridge over the Nueces River was built in 1933 for US 77 when it was first routed through Corpus Christi.

The southern terminus of I-37 is at a junction with US 181 and SH 35 near the Corpus Christi Bay in Corpus Christi.

I-37 heads west from US 181 through Corpus Christi, intersecting two freeways, SH 286 ( Crosstown Expressway ) and SH 358 ( Padre Island Drive ).

Just prior to leaving the Corpus Christi city limits, I-37 intersects and has a short concurrency with US 77.

US 77 merges with I-37 as a freeway from the south ; the two continue to the north and split after crossing the Nueces River.

I-37 continues to the northwest as US 77 continues to the northeast.

I-37 and US 281 remain concurrent until US 281 splits off to head to Pleasanton, while I-37 bypasses the city to the east.

After US 281 leaves towards the northwest, I-37 turns to the north heading towards San Antonio.

As I-37 enters the San Antonio city limits, it intersects the northern terminus of US 181.

At this junction, I-37 once again runs concurrently with US 281 which had been concurrent with I-410.

North of Floresville US 181 passes through the town limits of Elmendorf before intersection with State Loop 1604 ( Anderson Loop, surrounding San Antonio ), and ends 8 miles north at its northern terminus at I-37, just south of I-37 and I-410 on San Antonio's far south side.

In San Antonio, US 281 overlaps I-410 on the south side of the city until the interchange with I-37.

U. S. Highway 281 Alternate splits off from I-37 near Sunniland and parallels I-37 before rejoining north of Campbellton.

US 281 and I-37 then overlap north into downtown San Antonio until I-37 ends at I-35.

I-410 intersects I-10 twice, I-35 twice, I-37 once, as well as U. S. Highway 90, US 281, and State Highway 151, all freeways in the San Antonio metro area with the exception of 1604, which forms a secondary loop around the city.

After the interchange, I-37 is once again heading north on the east side of Downtown.

Because of their large geographic and population sizes, California and Texas send two representatives to their regional tournament ; Northern California and Southern California in the West region tournament and Texas East and Texas West ( whose areas encompass more than the geographical areas of East Texas and West Texas, splitting roughly along the I-35 / I-37 corridor ) compete in the Southwest region tournament.

Continuing to the north, I-37 intersects I-410, the inner loop around San Antonio, at a stack interchange.

Heading north through the south side of San Antonio, I-37 provides access to Brooks City-Base ( formerly Brooks AFB ).

It travels along the border through the Rio Grande Valley, turning north at Hidalgo, travelling through many small towns, alternating as a divided highway and main street, until joining I-37.

It splits with I-37 and travels through Pleasanton, travelling north to San Antonio.

State Highway 35, or SH 35, is a largely north – south highway in southeastern and southern Texas between Houston, junction of I-45 on the southeast side of the city and Corpus Christi, where it terminates on I-37.

Interstate 37 ( I-37 ) is a intrastate Interstate Highway located within the U. S. state of Texas.

As a result of the construction of I-37, SH 9 was removed from the State Highway System.

Beginning in 1971, sections of SH 9 were officially removed from the State Highway System as I-37 was completed.

I-37 was first designated in 1959 to provide a route between San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

In 1971, I-37 reached FM 888 and service to the city of Mathis.

With the completion of the interchange at SH 72 and other bridges in the Pleasanton area in 1981, I-37 was complete.

I-37 transitions to a rural setting once outside of the Corpus Christi city limits on its way to Mathis and Lake Corpus Christi.

After the county crossing, Red Top Road merges in, and the route begins to the north along with paralleling the nearby railroad tracks.

The route leaves Dragon and begins a slight curve to the northwest, still paralleling the railroad tracks.

The road begins a sustained climb over the next two miles paralleling an Esopus tributary, Birch Creek, up to Pine Hill.

Route 28 begins a concurrency with NY 30 in Margaretville, with the routes paralleling the East Branch of the Delaware River.

SR 74 begins at an interchange with I-5 in the city of San Juan Capistrano and heads east as the Ortega Highway, loosely paralleling San Juan Creek.

The Allegheny Front begins in south-central Pennsylvania just northwest of the town of Lock Haven and extends southwest paralleling, first, Bald Eagle Mountain, and then Brush Mountain to its east.

After crossing under the stone arch bridge carrying Legion Drive over the parkway, the first of many such rustic overpasses, the Taconic begins a long section going past Gate of Heaven Cemetery and paralleling the railroad tracks past the small Mount Pleasant train station, built to allow access to the surrounding cemetery of that name.

SH 6 begins at an intersection with Interstate 45 and SH 3 in Bayou Vista, and proceeds to the northwest, paralleling the ATSF railroad tracks.

As Northern Boulevard, NY 25A begins to follow a more easterly path, loosely paralleling a cluster of railroad lines to the south.

The street begins in the Boston neighborhood of Dorchester and runs southeast-northwest through Boston, paralleling Interstate 93 for a short distance and interchanging with the Massachusetts Turnpike ( Interstate 90 ).

The generally accepted hiking route, which begins near the ghost town of St. Elmo, is from the east starting at the Browns Creek Trailhead and paralleling Little Browns Creek to its upper reaches where it crosses Forest Road 1A, then following the road near to the summit.

Just north of Granville, the first of NY 22's two suffixed routes, NY 22A, begins its route running closely parallel to the state line and then into Vermont, where it becomes Vermont Route 22A, paralleling the parent route for some distance on the other side of the state line.

US 209 continues paralleling the Rondout towards High Falls, as it begins to curve to the east around the northern end of the ridge.

It begins at Highway 1 at Lake Louise, generally paralleling it until it meets Highway 1 again approximately west of Banff.
