Tczew was purchased by Heinrich von Plötzke of the Teutonic Knights following the Treaty of Soldin in 1309.

It was the third Henry Percy who purchased Alnwick Castle in 1309 from Antony Bec, Bishop of Durham and guardian of the last De Vesci, and from that time the fortunes of the Percys, though they still held their Yorkshire estates, were linked permanently with the little town on the Aln, and the fortress which commanded and defended it.

After being held by the family of De Vesci ( of which the modern rendering is Vasey – a name found all over south-east Northumberland ) for over two hundred years, it passed into the hands of the house of Percy in 1309.

He died in Naples in May 1309, and was succeeded by his son Robert the Wise.
