In March 1733, Zedler bought the publishing house of Johann Herbord Kloss, who had died in 1730.

In 1715 he became librarian and vice-principal at Weimar, where he became good friends with Johann Sebastian Bach ( Bach later dedicated his Canon a 2 perpetuus BWV 1075 to Gesner ), in 1729 ( having been dismissed as librarian at Weimar ) rector of the gymnasium at Ansbach, and in 1730 rector of the Thomasschule at Leipzig.

Johann Georg Hamann ( 27 August 1730 – 21 June 1788 ) was a noted German philosopher, a main proponent of the Sturm und Drang movement, and associated by historian of ideas Isaiah Berlin with the Counter-Enlightenment.

His father, Johann Rudolf Gruner ( 1680 – 1761 ), was pastor of Trachselwald, in the Bernese Emmenthal ( 1705 ), and later ( 1725 ) of Burgdorf, and a great collector of information relating to historical and scientific matters ; his great Thesaurus topographico-historicus totius ditionis Bernensis ( 4 vols, folio, 1729 – 1730 ) still remains in manuscript, but in 1732 he published a small work entitled Deliciae urbis Bernae, while he possessed an extensive cabinet of natural history objects.

The old " Rißmann's Hof ", renamed the " Behrenssche Hof " in 1756 after its new owner, Johann Hinrich Behrens ( 1730 – 1808 ), also lay east of the Örtze.

Johann Peter Alexander Wagner ( 26 February 1730 < sup > 1 </ sup >– 7 January 1809 ) was a German rococo sculptor.

The precise dates of his stay in Copenhagen are unknown: Mattheson reports 1665 to 1670, but Johan Gabriel Doppelmayr, author of a 1730 biographical volume on famous residents of Nuremberg, claimed Johann Philipp stayed in Copenhagen between 1663 and 1667.

Lillo wrote at least eight plays between 1730 and his death in 1739.
