In 1806, the French chemists Louis-Nicolas Vauquelin and Pierre Jean Robiquet isolated a compound in asparagus that was subsequently named asparagine, the first amino acid to be discovered.

The monument was designed by Jean Chalgrin in 1806, and its iconographic program pitted heroically nude French youths against bearded Germanic warriors in chain mail.

He continued to write on birds, producing Histoire naturelle et générale des colibris, oiseaux-mouches, jacamars et promerops ( 1802 ) with illustrations by his friend Jean Baptiste Audebert, followed by Histoire naturelle des plus beaux oiseaux chanteurs de la zone torride ( 1806 ).

On 10 October 1806 a united Prussian and Saxon contingent met with a corps of the French Grande Armée under General Jean Lannes at the Battle of Saalfeld, whereby Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia was killed.

Marie Louise took refuge in Hungary and later Galicia before returning to Vienna in 1806.

Napoleon acknowledged two illegitimate children: Charles Léon ( 1806 – 1881 ) by Eléonore Denuelle de La Plaigne, and Count Alexandre Joseph Colonna-Walewski ( 1810 – 1868 ) by Countess Marie Walewska.

Other items in the collection include diamond dress ornaments made for Catherine the Great, bracelet clasps once belonging to Marie Antoinette, and the Beauharnais emerald necklace presented by Napoleon to his adopted daughter Hortense de Beauharnais in 1806.

Custer was born in New Rumley, Ohio, to Emanuel Henry Custer ( 1806 – 1892 ), a farmer and blacksmith, and Marie Ward Kirkpatrick ( 1807 – 1882 ).

Junot was born in Bussy-le-Grand, Côte-d ' Or, son of Michel Junot ( 1739 – 1814, son of François Junot, d. 1759, and wife Edmée Laurain, b. 1703 and d. 1784 ) and wife Marie Antoinette Bienaymé ( 1735 – 1806, daughter of Guy Bienaymé and wife Ursule Rigoley ), and studied in Châtillon.

Marie Julie Bonaparte ( née Clary ; 26 December 1771, Marseille – 7 April 1845, Florence ) was Queen consort of Spain and the Indies, Naples and Sicily as the spouse of King Joseph Bonaparte, who was King of Naples and Sicily from January 1806 to June 1808, and later King of Spain and the Spanish West Indies from 25 June 1808 to June 1813.

In comedy he was ably supported by his wife, Marie Therese De Camp, whom he married on 2 July 1806.

She hosted her exiled sister Princess Marie of Baden as a guest in 1806 – 7.

In 1806 John Plomer Clark as he now was, married in 1806 the daughter of Sir John Nelthorp, a Miss Anne Marie Charlotte Nelthorp.

Ferdinand was forced to flee from Naples in 1806 when Napoleon Bonaparte deposed him and installed his brother, Joseph, as king.

On 26 December 1805, Napoleon I of France declared Ferdinand deposed again and replaced him with his own brother Joseph Bonaparte on 30 March 1806.

There is also another William Storrs Fry ( circa 1806 – 1844 ) who was one of the 11 children of Joseph and Elizabeth Fry.

After studying in Leipzig and at the University of Göttingen he visited England in the summer of 1806, carrying a letter of introduction from the naturalist Johann Friedrich Blumenbach to Sir Joseph Banks, who, with the other members of the African Association, accepted his offer in 1809 to launch an expedition to discover the source of the River Niger.

He did good service at the Battle of Austerlitz ( 2 December 1805 ), and went in 1806 to Naples, where he became minister of war to Joseph Bonaparte.
