Gram Parsons ( November 5, 1946 – September 19, 1973 ) was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and pianist.

Born in 1946, Parsons emerged from a wealthy but troubled childhood to attend Harvard University.

Parsons was born Ingram Cecil Connor III on November 5, 1946, in Winter Haven, Florida, to Ingram Cecil (" Coon Dog ") and Avis ( née Snively ) Connor.
