While usually harmless, Mike is not above using underhanded tactics to get his way — in A Hole in the Heart ( series 3 ), he steals a story from Marty because viewers are responding positively to it, while in Addicted to Fame, he demands that Geoffrey's television show be cancelled because he is jealous of the attention his friend is getting.

He is Mike's major antagonist on the team, often baiting him about sensitive topics, such as the supposedly anti-Semitic golf club of which Mike is a member ( A Hole in the Heart ), or whenever Mike's public appearances end in disaster.

While in STP, Kretz has kept somewhat of a low profile but still contributed to the band's songwriting, most notably writing the music to the band's 1996 hit " Trippin ' on a Hole in a Paper Heart.

Love initially gained notoriety in the Los Angeles indie rock scene as the lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist for alternative rock band Hole, which she formed in 1989 with lead guitarist Eric Erlandson.

After helping her husband with another unsuccessful parliamentary campaign, Pankhurst faced legal troubles in 1896 when she and two men violated a court order against ILP meetings at Boggart Hole Clough.

In 2009, Love announced she was reforming Hole as the sole returning member.

Hole was thought to be on hiatus in 1996, due to Love's rising movie career which skyrocketed when she landed a lead role in The People vs. Larry Flynt ( 1996 ).

Although Hole as a band did not perform during 1996 and 1997, members of Hole performed separately, including Love's guest appearance at a Smashing Pumpkins ' show in February 1996, at which she performed " Silverfuck " and " Farewell and Goodnight ", with Smashing Pumpkins ' frontman, and former boyfriend, Billy Corgan.

However, days later, Melissa Auf der Maur, interviewed in Toronto where she was appearing at the North by Northeast music festival, said she had " no clue " about the band's reported reunion and denied the NME claim she had, or was asked to, contribute vocals to the album or had been asked to tour with the purportedly reunited band saying, " I actually don't know the reunion ... I arrived at music festival in Toronto and I heard that Hole were getting back together from people sending me links ," she said.

It came as a surprise to Auf der Maur, who responded by saying she felt that " You can't take a Hole reunion thing that lightly.

In the same year, she and drummer Samantha Maloney ( another Hole alumnus and also formerly of Mötley Crüe, and Peaches ), Paz Lenchantin ( of A Perfect Circle, and Zwan ), and Radio Sloan ( of Peaches, The Need ) got together to play a show in Los Angeles, California as The Chelsea, taking their name from the Chelsea Hotel in New York, where Auf der Maur lived for a number of years.

She was a photography major specializing in self-portraiture at Concordia University when she was invited to join Hole in 1994.

In 2006, she appeared in David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Rabbit Hole in a Manhattan Theatre Club production, and won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role ( Play ).

Other films she has appeared in include The Night Listener, Blindness and Rabbit Hole.
