Transients roam widely along the coast ; some individuals have been sighted in both southern Alaska and California.

Transient pods have been sighted from southern Alaska to central California.

Nevada ranks second in the US, behind Alaska, and ahead of California, Montana, and Washington.

Na-Dené spans from Alaska and western Canada through Washington, Oregon, and California to the U. S. Southwest and northern Mexico ( with one outlier in the Plains ).

It also has the second-highest percentage of Indigenous peoples of the Americas, after Alaska, and the fourth-highest total number of Indigenous peoples of the Americas after California, Oklahoma, and Arizona.

At the same time Russians colonized Alaska and even founded settlements in California, like Fort Ross.

Pacific harbor porpoise range from Point Conception, California to Alaska and across to the Kamchatka Peninsula and Japan.

The Northern Pacific Division consists of Alaska, Northern California, Idaho, Western Montana, Northern Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.

It currently includes Northern California, most of Nevada, and Alaska, as well as Japan, Korea, and the Pacific Rim ( excluding Australia and New Zealand ).

S. and Canadian personnel, became operational in 1983 at Elmendorf AFB which receives and analyses surveillance radar data from the sites in the Alaska Radar System ( ARS ) to determine range, direction altitude speed and whether or not the objects are friendly or hostile.

Horizon Air operating as Alaska Airlines flies Bombardier Q400 high speed turboprops daily to Seattle.

A wing B-58 set a new speed record on 16 October 1963 by flying from Tokyo, Japan, to London, England ( via Alaska and Greenland ), in 8: 35 hours at an average speed of 938 mph.

This is roughly one fiftieth of the bowhead whale harvest limits in Alaska ( see below ).

* Foreign Service Clasp: Issued by the United States Army for military service outside the continental limits of the United States, including service in Alaska.

* Base Clasp: Issued by the U. S. Navy and United States Marine Corps for service outside the continental limits of the United States ( service in either Alaska or Hawaii qualified ).

The longest stretch of freeway in Alaska runs mostly along the Glenn Highway, beginning in north Anchorage, continuing onto the Parks Highway at the interchange of the two roads, and ending in the city limits of Wasilla, for a total of approximately 38 miles ( 61 km ).

It is located at the convergence of the Taiya River and Taiya Inlet on the south side of the Chilkoot Pass within the limits of the Municipality of Skagway Borough, Alaska.

** Samalga Island, at longitude 169 ° 12 ′ W, is the westernmost area of Alaska that observes UTC − 9, but is far west of the theoretical zone limits (− 142. 5 ° to-127. 5 ° longitude ).

Alaska, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Wyoming have similar limits on the possession of open containers in vehicles, but not to the level of TEA-21 compliance.
