Erin Brockovich-Ellis ( born June 22, 1960 ) is an American legal clerk and environmental activist who, despite the lack of a formal law school education, or any legal education, was instrumental in constructing a case against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company ( PG & E ) of California in 1993.

The most famous is probably Erin Brockovich, a real legal clerk whose participation in a toxic tort case became a major motion picture.

In August 2005 a 25-year-old woman named Erin Horsburgh claimed that she was Azaria Chamberlain, but her claims were rejected by the authorities and the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Media Watch program, which stated that none of the reports linking Horsburgh to the Chamberlain case had any substance.

Erin begins digging into the particulars of the case and soon finds evidence that the groundwater in Hinkley is contaminated with dangerous hexavalent chromium, but PG & E is telling Hinkley residents that they use a safer form of chromium in their cooling ponds.

In the final scene, Ed hands Erin her bonus payment for the case, but says he has changed the amount.

In the film, Ed Masry represents Erin Brockovich in the car crash case.

The legal case was the subject of Erin Brockovich, a 2000 drama film.

The case was adapted into the highly successful film, Erin Brockovich, with Albert Finney portraying Masry.

As records were not kept of the deaths of the very poor, the first recorded case was that of one Rebecca Andrews on 12 April 1665.

The three-judge dissent, written by Judge Andrews and joined by Judges Frederick Crane and John F. O ' Brien, by contrast, saw the case as a matter of proximate cause — Palsgraf's injury could be immediately traced to the wrong committed by the guard, and the fact of the wrong and the fact of the injury should be enough to find negligence ( unlike duty, proximate cause is a matter of fact to be determined by a jury ; therefore, the dissent would have upheld the jury's verdict for the plaintiff ).

The case was tried the same day with only one witness for the defense, Jennie Andrews.

Another example is from the Thomas Andrews Drake case, in which several complainants to the Department of Defense OIG over NSA's Trailblazer Project were later raided by the FBI and some threatened with criminal prosecution.

Andrews v. Law Society of British Columbia, 1 SCR 143 is the first Supreme Court of Canada case to deal with section 15 ( equality rights ) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
