Isaiah and probably
Uzziah reigned fifty-two years in the middle of the 8th century BC, and Isaiah must have begun his ministry a few years before Uzziah's death, probably in the 740s BC.

The importance of this theme is indicated by its placement at the beginning and end of Second Isaiah ( 40: 3 – 5, 55: 12 – 13 ).
Isaiah the prophet, in Chapter 19, Verse 19 says " In that day there will be an altar to the LORD in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the LORD at its border.
God is said ( as in Isaiah 45 ) to be the author of evil in the sense that the corruption of material objects in nature is ordained by Him, as a means for carrying out the design of the universe ; and on the other hand, the evil which exists as a consequence of the breach of Divine laws is in the same sense due to Divine appointment ; the universe would be less perfect if its laws could be broken with impunity.

* Isaiah Berlin: Freedom and its Betrayal
Although the term ' the Counter-Enlightenment ' was first used in English ( in passing ) by William Barrett in a 1949 article (" Art, Aristocracy and Reason ") in Partisan Review, it was Isaiah Berlin who established its place in the history of ideas.
The reasons for their choosing of the ASV were twofold: its usage of " Jehovah " as the Divine Name, which was congruent with their doctrine, and they derived their name from Isaiah 43. 10, 12, both of which contain the phrase, " Ye are my witnesses, saith Jehovah.
