Holden's design for the Underground's headquarters building at 55 Broadway included avant-garde sculptures by Jacob Epstein, Eric Gill and Henry Moore ( his first public commission ).

One of its main modern points of interest is the aluminium figure of Christ in Majesty ( 1954-5 ), by Jacob Epstein, which is suspended above the nave.

The Welch Regiment memorial chapel was constructed, and Sir Jacob Epstein created the figure of Christ in Majesty which is suspended above the nave on a concrete arch designed by George Pace.

Eliot, a former member of the college has a bust of the writer by Jacob Epstein, presented by Frank Brenchley, a former member and fellow of the college, who presented his collection of Eliot first editions and ephemera to the college, which is believed to be the second largest collection of such material, worldwide.

Renowned for its grand interior, some of the stained glass windows were designed by the 18th-century portraitist Sir Joshua Reynolds and contains works by Sir Jacob Epstein and El Greco.

Ross was also responsible for commissioning Jacob Epstein to produce the tomb for Wilde.

Just before World War I he championed the avant-garde artists Lucien Pissarro, Jacob Epstein, Augustus John and Wyndham Lewis.

David Bomberg, Alvin Langdon Coburn, Jacob Epstein, Frederick Etchells, Henri Gaudier-Brzeska, Jessica Dismorr, Cuthbert Hamilton, Christopher Nevinson, William Roberts, Helen Saunders, Dorothy Shakespear and Edward Wadsworth were also contributors to the development of the movement.

Jacob Epstein was notably not represented, although did have his drawings reproduced in ' Blast!

However many modern artists such as Eric Gill, Marc Chagall, Henri Matisse, Jacob Epstein, Elizabeth Frink and Graham Sutherland have produced well-known works of art for churches.

After an affair with Lorna Garman, he went on to marry, in 1948, her niece Kathleen " Kitty " Epstein, daughter of sculptor Jacob Epstein and socialite Kathleen Garman.
