A financial crisis led KXLI and KXLT to go off the air at the end of 1988 ( KTMA also teetered financially for a time ).

From 1991 to about 1995 KXLI / KXLT aired programming from the Home Shopping Network.

In 1998, Paxson broke the KXLI / KXLT simulcast by selling the latter station ( which became a Fox affiliate for the Rochester market ).

KXLT signed-on in August 1987 as a full-time satellite of St. Cloud-based Independent KXLI which largely aired low-budget programming and infomercials.

KXLI and KXLT were sold to Paxson Communications in 1996 which converted both stations to an all-infomercial format under Paxson's " inTV " network.

During the KXLI simulcast, this station operated at a lower-than-licensed power level given the financial difficulties KXLI faced prior to Paxson's purchase.

KXLI was also simulcast on KXLT-TV channel 47 in Rochester, and by the late 1980s, Minnesota North Stars hockey broadcasts would also air on the stations.

The KPXM Tower ( formerly KXLI Tower ) is the tallest structure in Minnesota, a guyed aerial mast rising 1505 feet ( 458. 72 meters ).

KXLI was the call sign of channel 41 when the tower was built.

On 5 November 1999, the station became KXLI and on 24 October 2005, the current KTRW.

In 2001, Shockley Communications was bought by Quincy Newspapers ( owner of KTTC ) with Shockley retaining KXLT due to Federal Communications Commission ( FCC ) restrictions.

KTTC provides all services for KXLT excluding sales, traffic, and programming.

Syndicated programming on KXLT includes Extra, Two and a Half Men, Friends, and Family Guy among others.

Owned by SagamoreHill Broadcasting, KXLT is operated through a shared services agreement ( SSA ) by Quincy Newspapers as sister to NBC affiliate KTTC.

In 1997, Paxson decided to sell KXLT to raise money to launch the Pax network ( today's Ion Television ).

Late that year, Shockley Communications purchased KXLT.

As part of the arrangement, Quincy provides all technical support, promotions, commercial production, and master control for KXLT.

Wayne, and KFAT 92. 9 in Anchorage, Alaska, Aaron Santini ( KKHQ PD in Waterloo, Iowa ), WQAL ( Cleveland ) morning jock Rebecca Wilde, Radio Disney jock Aaron K., Craig Russell, who did 2 tours of duty in the Alpine City, hosted both the Morning Hustle ( 1993 – 1995 ) and the Afternoon Hustle ( 1999 – 2004 ); he is now at WFGR in Grand Rapids ; Andrew Delancey ( now producing television news in Tampa, and doing afternoon news for the statewide " Smile FM " contemporary Christian music network ), and former WDRQ ( Detroit ) jock Jake Edwards ( now on WDVD ).
