Shaun Hart ( born 17 May 1971 ) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played his entire Australian Football League at the Brisbane Lions where he was a premiership winning utility player known for his courage.

Although the Lions have lost quite a few players throughout 2009, new players signed for 2010 include Tonderai Chavangha ( Springbok wing ), Carlos Spencer ( All Black Flyhalf ), Wikus van Heerden ( Springbok flanker ), Deon van Rensburg ( centre ), Marius Delport ( utility back ), JP Joubert ( scrumhalf ), Jonathan Mokuena and Burton Francis ( Flyhalf ).

In 1949 the Four Home Unions combined formally to create a Tours Committee and for the first time, every player of the 1950 Lions squad was an international before the New Zealand series.

Retired cricketer Shane Warne was born in Upper Ferntree Gully on 13 September 1969 at the Angliss Hospital ( Talaskia Road, Upper Ferntree Gully ), as was Brisbane Lions triple premiership player Shaun Hart.

Taylor was signed by the Detroit Lions on December 16, 2008 after wide receiver Shaun McDonald was placed on injured reserve.

In the 2004 Preliminary Final, with the Lions poised to enter a playoff for a record-equalling fourth consecutive premiership, Hart was unlucky enough to find himself in the path of teammate Daniel Bradshaw on a lead.

The Lions won all of their games that did not have test status except for the matches against Auckland, Wellington and Canterbury ; they did however lose three of their four test matches against the All Blacks, winning the first test 6 – 3 ..

Despite having lost the test series to South Africa by game three, the Lions won the final test.

The Lions won the opening four fixtures before losing to Otago and Southland, but succeeded in holding the All Blacks to a nine-all draw.

The Lions won all their games in Australia except for their final fixture against a New South Wales XV in Newcastle.

The Lions easily won both tests against Australia and lost the first three tests against the All Blacks, but did find victory ( 9 – 6 ) in the final test.

The Lions would only lose a single match on the rest of the tour, and won the test series against New Zealand, winning and drawing the last two games, to take the series two wins to one.

The Lions did however lose the first three tests to South Africa, winning the last one, though the series had already been won by the Springboks.

The tour was very successful for the Lions, who won all eight non-tests and won the test series against Australia, two to one.

The Lions won the test series 2 – 1.

The Lions ' 2005 tour to New Zealand, coached by 2003 England world cup winning coach Clive Woodward, won all seven games against provincial teams however suffered heavy defeats in all three tests and were narrowly defeated by the New Zealand Maori team.

The Lions won the third Test 28 – 9 at Ellis Park, and the series finished 2 – 1 to South Africa.

In 2002, the Lions won back-to-back Premierships when they defeated Collingwood 9. 12. 66 to 10. 1

In 2012 the Lions won the Northern Conference and overall NEAFL premierships.

The Browns, who lost the last game of the regular season to the Lions only a week before, won their second NFL crown 56 – 10.

The Lions have won four NFL Championships, the last in 1957, giving the club the second-longest NFL championship drought behind the Arizona Cardinals.

Both the Lions and Browns won NFL championships before the Super Bowl era.

In advertising the team has also won all the major awards including Cannes Lions, British Television Advertising Awards, Clios, D & AD and many more.

Vernon High School's first team state championship came in the 1984-1985 season as the Lady Lions won the 3A girls basketball state title.

During the game, in which he played in the centre of midfield, he also set up a scoring chance for Darren Bent as the Young Lions won 2 – 0.
