( Margaret was the daughter of Dafydd Fychan, Lord of Anglesey, and his wife, Nest ferch Ieuan.

In a declaration made on the 16 June 1673 by Arthur Annesley, 1st Earl of Anglesey, the Lord Privy Seal, in reference to a dispute over the exercise of authority over the Officers of Arms the powers of the Earl Marshal were stated as " to have power to order, judge, and determine all matters touching arms, ensigns of nobility, honour, and chivalry ; to make laws, ordinances, and statutes for the good government of the Officers of Arms ; to nominate Officers to fill vacancies in the College of Arms ; to punish and correct Officers of Arms for misbehaviour in the execution of their places ".

In 1667, he exchanged his office as Vice-Chamberlain with Lord Anglesey for that of Vice-Treasurer of Ireland, an office which he sold in 1669 for £ 11, 000.

Rupert Evelyn Beckett by his wife Muriel Helen Florence Paget, daughter of Lord Berkeley Charles Sydney Paget, himself a younger son of the 2nd Marquess of Anglesey, whom he married in 13 December 1932, was an invalid for many years, suffering from clinical depression and anorexia nervosa, but she bore him his only child, a daughter, Fiona, in 1934.

Field Marshal Henry William Paget, 1st Marquess of Anglesey, KG, GCB, GCH, PC ( 17 May 1768 – 29 April 1854 ), styled Lord Paget between 1784 and 1812 and known as The Earl of Uxbridge between 1812 and 1815, was a British military leader and politician, now chiefly remembered for leading the charge of the heavy cavalry against d ' Erlon's column during the Battle of Waterloo.

In 1819 Anglesey became full general, and at the coronation of George IV, he acted as Lord High Steward of England.

He also held the honorary posts of Lord Lieutenant of Anglesey between 1812 and 1854 and Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire between 1849 and 1854.

Lord Anglesey died April 29, 1854, and was buried at Lichfield Cathedral, where a monument is erected to his honour.

Lord Anglesey was first married on 5 July 1795 in London to Lady Caroline Elizabeth Villiers ( 16 December 1774-16 June 1835 ), daughter of George Villiers, 4th Earl of Jersey and Frances Villiers, Countess of Jersey.

Lord Anglesey and Lady Caroline were divorced on 29 November 1810.

Lord Anglesey survived her by less than a year and died on 29 April 1854, aged 85.

In February, Parliament named Northumberland Lord Lieutenant of Sussex, Pembrokeshire, and Anglesey.

Lord Anglesey later held political office as Master-General of the Ordnance and Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland.

Shortly after Lord Grandison's death, Barbara's mother the Lady Mary remarried to Charles Villiers, 2nd Earl of Anglesey, a cousin of her late husband.

Memoirs of Lord Anglesey were published by Sir P. Pett in 1693, but contain little biographical information and were repudiated as a mere imposture by Sir John Thompson, his son-in-law, in his preface to Lord Anglesey's State of the Government in 1694.
