Cedar Creek Elementary School is not currently operating as most Round Mountain students are attending schools in the Mountain Union ( K-8 ) District in nearby Montgomery Creek.

Eldorado, the oldest of the three high schools, opened in 1973 ; Las Vegas High School opened its new campus in 1993 and Sunrise Mountain High School was established in 2009.

These small schools prevailed until around 1870, when the Quakers built a large school called the Chappaqua Mountain Institute on Quaker Street.
