Na and activating
In photoreceptor cells, there is an abundance of cGMP in dark conditions, keeping cGMP-gated Na channels open and so, activating PDE diminishes the supply of cGMP, reducing the number of open Na channels and thus hyperpolarizing the photoreceptor cell, causing less glutamate to be released.

Na and Ca2
The nodes of Ranvier contain Na +/ K + ATPases, Na +/ Ca2 + exchangers and high density of voltage-gated Na + channels that generate action potentials.

Na and channels

These channels are primarily permeable to monovalent cations such as K < sup >+</ sup > and Na < sup >+</ sup >.
* Non-selective cation channels: These let many types of cations, mainly Na < sup >+</ sup >, K < sup >+</ sup > and Ca < sup > 2 +</ sup > through the channel.
