The compilation work was undertaken by a number of interested crystallographers in the Department of Mineralogy of the University Museum at Oxford.

Most unabridged English editions of the novel, including the Modern Library and Oxford World's Classics editions, use this translation, although Penguin Classics published a new translation by Robin Buss in 1996.

However, Oxford have never issued a stand-alone scholarly edition of the play, neither have Cambridge, Norton or Penguin.

Two translations by Irish poets are available in mass market editions: Thomas Kinsella's The Táin ( 1969, Oxford University Press ) and Ciarán Carson's The Táin ( 2007, Penguin Classics ).

The Penguin poetry anthologies, published by Penguin Books, have at times played the role of a ' third force ' in British poetry, less literary than those from Faber and Faber, and less academic than those from Oxford University Press.

The play is attributed to Middleton in Jackson's facsimile edition of the 1607 quarto ( 1983 ), in Bryan Loughrey and Neil Taylor's edition of Five Middleton Plays ( Penguin, 1988 ), and in Thomas Middleton: The Collected Works ( Oxford, 2007 ).

Gentleman ’ s early wood engravings were for Penguin paperbacks, greetings cards, wine lists, press ads, and books – a lavish Swiss Family Robinson for Limited Editions Club of New York, and a more modest edition of John Clare's The Shepherd's Calendar for the Oxford University Press.

On January 23, 2012 Penguin Books celebrated at Wolfson College, Oxford, the golden jubilee of Vermes's The Dead Sea Scrolls in English, which has sold an estimated half-a-million copies worldwide.

In 1989 a single number was published by Penguin Books Australia Ltd. From 1991 to 1994 the magazine was published by Oxford University Press.
